She approaches each session with a calm and collaborative energy that yields relaxed and natural photos. She was able to capture our day so authentically. Not only is she excellent on wedding day but she's responsive and organized leading up to it. She was diligent on creating and executing a shotlist and even added in some family portrait combinations that I missed on the first round. Her thoughtful process makes you feel like a priority and I knew my vision was safe in her hands. Her work is phenomenal and she's an absolute pleasure to work with.”

Hey, I'm Marisa! I work with couples to help capture their dream wedding day! Most days you can find me drinking coffee in front of my computer editing the day away. If I’m not home in the SF Bay Area, I’m most likely in the Sierras or at a session off the grid. In my free time you can find me drinking wine with friends, maybe on a run, laying around with my dog, near a lake or finding the best tacos.

Awarded Best of Zola
“We could not imagine working with any other photographer for our wedding! From our first video meeting to touch base, to our engagement shoot, and ultimately our wedding day, Marisa collaborated with us and other vendors with so much grace and a great sense of humor. She communicates clearly and punctually. We were particularly impressed with how she was able to wrangle our large families and get group photos together with confidence, but also captured the small, intimate moments so perfectly. We will forever cherish the photos that perfectly encapsulate the best day of our lives. Thank you so much, Marisa!”

  • Serves Pleasanton, CA

I'm Katherine, a wedding photographer based in Oakland, CA. With over a decade of experience and features in Vogue, Brides, The New York Times, and more, I know how to create wedding photos that don’t just look stunning — they feel like you. No trendy filters, no forced poses, just authentic moments that reflect who you are. I believe the best moments aren’t staged. They unfold naturally, in the quiet glances, the belly laughs, and those unspoken connections shared with your loved ones. My goal is to capture those raw, in-between moments that truly make your wedding day yours!

Awarded Best of Zola
“Katherine helped us capture our civil ceremony at SF City Hall and we couldn't have been luckier to find her! She is incredibly fun, professional, organized, and delivered everything exactly as she described. A few things we especially appreciated was that since we had a full destination wedding planned a couple months later, she was very mindful of our budget and worked with us to still get what we were wanting for the civil ceremony. She also created a fantastic guide to SF City Hall Weddings that she sent early and to help get us prepared. And she's very thorough and communicative; she responds to emails promptly and if there was even a slight delay in delivering anything she told us immediately. And of course the photos turned out beautifully! Overall, we just loved her energy. Since she set up a video call before our date to get to know us and what we were looking for, it was like meeting an old friend when the day came. She was so easy to work with and we felt immediately comfortable with her. I can only imagine what a joy she is to have for a full wedding! We highly recommend working with Katherine!”

She has a keen eye with setting us up in the perfect spots to capture the most of everything around us, especially the natural lighting coming through the trees! Shawna GD Photography
Rating: 5.0 (17 reviews)
·Ratings include Zola and Google reviews
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,200
  • Serves Pleasanton, CA

I photograph intimate weddings and elopements with intention, emotion, and a little bit of edge. My approach is simple: your photos should feel like you. Real, raw and timeless, not stiff or performative. I'm here to catch the unplanned magic and the editorial moments that make your story look and feel as fabulous as you do.

“I had the absolute privilege of having Shawna capture my engagement photos, and later, serve as my second shooter on my wedding day. I say “privilege” because I still can’t believe someone so kind, genuine, and sweet truly exists. When I first met Shawna and her husband Patrick for our engagement session, they made the entire experience so easy and fun, even though my husband and I are far from comfortable in front of a camera. They made the session completely about us, helping us feel relaxed and natural. The moment we finished, I knew there was no way I could imagine my wedding day without Shawna being a part of it. At the wedding, Shawna seamlessly collaborated with my main photographer. She was professional, detail-oriented, and fully committed to making sure our day was as perfect as it could be. But Shawna went beyond just photography, she truly got to know us as a couple, took the time to learn what mattered to us, and poured her passion not only into her work but into us as clients. On my wedding morning, I was having a really difficult time, but the second Shawna arrived, her smile and calming presence gave me comfort I can’t even put into words. She immediately asked, “How can I help?”… and she meant it. She jumped right in, kept me grounded, and reminded me to enjoy the moment. I will never regret choosing Shawna for my photos. Not only did I gain beautiful memories captured forever, but I also feel like I’ve gained a friend for life.”

I’m Cherlyn (rhymes with Berlin). So nice to e-meet you! If we met in person and it wasn’t during a pandemic- I would probably hug you! I’m an introvert-extrovert and tend to ramble too much when I get nervous. In emails - I tend to use exclamation points a lot!! (and will agonize over my drafts of emails before sending them because they probably have one too many!!) My aim as your photographer is to provide a memorable experience where you two feel comfortable, taken care of, and get to fully enjoy your wedding day as much as possible with all your guests & loved ones - whether they be in real life or via livestream!

Awarded Best of Zola
“Cherlyn was a dream photographer for my small Santa Clara wedding held at the newly renovated chapel at the clerk-recorder's office. She had experience photographing there before, which was a major reason why I picked her to document my special day, in addition to her documentary-style photography which suited my shy spouse. I wanted someone who would be able to take formal photographs in addition to candids for the courthouse wedding and Chinese dinner to follow, and she more than understood the assignment. She took the time to scope out scenic areas near the office and even stayed for the dinner afterwards. She was a wonderful conversationalist and helped everyone feel at ease. I really treasure all the moments she was able to capture for us.”

I believe love is love and happily photograph couples of all backgrounds, orientations, religions and gender expressions. I aim to create authentic and emotive images for my clients and edit true to color so the work will be timeless. My personality is friendly and warm, which helps make my couples feel at ease and open up in front of the camera. I donate $100 from every wedding day package to a non profit organization (either the ACLU, End the Backlog or the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation) because I believe paying it forward in honor of love is an excellent first step into marriage.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Jenna was recommended to us by another photographer and it was such a pleasure to work with her! We greatly appreciated how much she wanted to know us and our personalities in advance of our wedding day. We ended every zoom call or email exchange feeling confident in our decision to work with her. The weather on our wedding day wasn’t very cooperative, but Jenna and team were on the lookout for any break in the rain so that we could go up to the roof and get a few pictures. And she totally nailed them—they are some of our favorite pictures from the day. Jenna and team made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera and also captured some incredible candids. If you’re looking for a fun, positive, and easy-to-work with photographer—Jenna is the right pick!”

I'm Hannah, a full time wedding and portrait photographer in Livermore, California. To me, photography is so much more than just hiring another vendor. And that's why you should choose someone you truly love to work with! “Hannah is a joy to work with. She completely understands that success for a team of wedding vendors is achieved by cooperating as a cohesive group and not as disparate individual vendors doing their own thing. Hi, I’m Hayden! With over 300 weddings captured, I take a journalistic approach to photography, documenting authentic moments as they naturally unfold. I shoot with both film and digital to create timeless, heartfelt images that tell your unique love story. With a go-with-the-flow mentality, I will capture moments as they come and turn them into beautiful memories.

“Hayden was absolutely fantastic! Not only did he bring his own camera and film to contribute to the retro vibe of our wedding (photo attached), he worked perfectly with our friend and videographer to get some incredible shots of my wife and I. His demeanor and humor made it so much easier and more fun to take photos and really set us at ease. He posed us in such a natural way that didn’t feel awkward at all and the photos were absolutely stunning. To top it all off, he saw my groomsmen and I setting up chairs for the ceremony and he pitched in to help us carry them! I cannot recommend him enough, he’s the man.”

I'm a passionate photographer who finds joy in collaborating with creative minds to capture extraordinary moments. By day, I channel my expertise into high-quality construction work, while my artistic pursuits in photography allow me to explore my creativity and connect with others on a profound level.

“From start to finish, working with Will was so refreshing. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he also has a truly artistic eye that brings every photo to life. Every single image he delivered was stunning, beautifully composed, full of emotion, and captured with such an authentic feel. What really stood out to us was how effortless and seamless the entire photography process felt. Will has this calm and warm energy that instantly put us (and everyone else) at ease. During the bridesmaids' photoshoot, he created such a fun, relaxed atmosphere - it honestly felt more like hanging out with a friend than posing for pictures! He encouraged us to be ourselves, let loose, and enjoy the moment, and the result was a set of natural, joyful, and candid shots that we’ll cherish forever. It felt like Will was genuinely part of the celebration — laughing with us, hyping us up - you could tell he genuinely loves what he does and was fully present with us in the moment. His enthusiasm was infectious, and it felt like he was celebrating right alongside us, which made the whole experience even more special. He was also incredibly patient and professional throughout the day. Never once did we feel rushed or staged, he took his time to get the right shots while making sure we stayed present and enjoyed the experience. I genuinely cannot recommend Will enough. His talent speaks for itself, but it’s his personality, passion, and dedication that make him truly exceptional. If you’re looking for someone who will not only take beautiful photos but also enhance your wedding day experience, Will is 100% the one. We’d recommend him a million times over!”

I am an East Coast transplant wedding photographer based in the SF Bay area. I’m super laid back and kind of a goofball… I like to have fun during my photo sessions to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera!

My name is Connie and I have been shooting weddings and portraits for over 15years. The goal for me is to give my client an heirloom of their wedding day to pass down to generations to come. As a young kid, I remember staring at my parents black and white wedding photos for a long time. It captivated me. I am very lucky to have those memories and that is what I want for my clients. I love capturing beautiful imagery through posing, beautiful light and when there isn't light, I like to create it. I can be a goof ball capturing the unexpected filled laughter. Come look at my work, and hopefully we can connect.

“Connie was so awesome to work with! Leading up to the wedding she was easy to communicate with and always responded to my emails quickly. When my wedding day rolled around she was at the venue on time and got to work. She was patient with everything going on, she had an assistant as well that was great! I told Connie that I was worried about taking pictures because I never considered myself photogenic, she told me not to worry. She did a great job! The pictures turned out beautiful! I love them! Now the hard part is choosing which ones to print.”

Hi, I’m Briana! I was born and raised in The Northern Chicago Suburbs, and now reside in The San Fransisco Bay Area. I’ve been behind the camera for over 10 years, capturing everything from everyday moments to life’s biggest milestones. When I’m not photographing, I’m a gymnastics coach, which means I spend a lot of time encouraging little ones, celebrating small wins, and keeping things fun and positive. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me hanging out with my friends, playing with my cats Lana, Levi, and Zoe, checking out a good brewery, or just enjoying my quiet time.

“We are beyond thrilled with our engagement photos! Briana was amazing at making us feel comfortable and relaxed, which made for beautiful photos. Every photo was a perfect reflection of our love and personalities. The attention to detail and creativity was outstanding. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out and how she helped our vision become reality. Highly recommend to anyone looking for professional, stunning engagement photos!"”
