The Queen Theater was the perfect location for an alternative bride. I absolutely loved this venue from top to bottom. I first walked in for a show when I was in my 20s, and immediately told my sister, 'I’m getting married here!' It was even more perfect than I could have imagined—gorgeous and beyond my wildest dreams. I received so many compliments on the venue. The acoustics were perfect, the dance floor popping, and everything was just awesome. Highly recommend this stunning spot for anyone looking for something unique! Maren was the absolute best - sadly she is leaving for a new job opportunity, so hopefully they find someone as wonderful as her. Allison and everyone else we dealt with were also a joy to work with. Can't go wrong here. All photos credited to Darby Shaye Photography

Shellie and the Hotel Du Pont team are total pros. They were very accommodating throughout the process and were always willing to work with us to make our day as special as possible. The food and drinks were all terrific and the service was exceptional. We were attracted to Hotel Du Pont as a venue because of the opportunity to host a “Wedding Weekend” and not only did we get to pull that off, but Hotel Du Pont made it a better experience than we could have hoped for. Great food, beautiful ballrooms and accommodations, and a professional and friendly staff made this a home run wedding venue for us.

Their indoor reception area is a beautifully built barn with delicious food & a spacious dance floor. Their event coordinator & wait staff are always a pleasure to work with. If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s vibrant, creative, and totally you—welcome to the vibe.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has an energetic and exciting atmosphere
  • Pets can join the celebration
  • Space for a large guest list

Venue considerations

  • No in-house lighting and sound packages available
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • On-site parking not available
My partner and I fell in love with Pentridge Station almost right away as customers — the friendly staff, the chill/homey vibe, and the welcoming atmosphere all helped us to feel a sense of community and belonging in a city that was new to us. When we finally decided to throw a wedding celebration after 2 years of being married (specifically a cook-out vibe, easy breezy celebration) it was a no brainer to reach out to Pentridge. That being said, it’s a pretty versatile space and can be dressed up or down depending on the kind of wedding you’re going for. We coordinated directly with the owners, Jocelyn and Ephream, who were both very thoughtful, sweet, and gracious throughout the entire process. Their flexible event rental options, list of recommended food vendors, and local DJs really helped to make us feel supported in our planning. Their bartending staff was attentive and wonderful. All of our guests - a mix of family from North Jersey, Maryland, and New York - were so impressed with the venue. For almost all of them it was their first time visiting us in West Philly, and having Pentridge Station be their introduction to the neighborhood and our life in Philadelphia felt incredibly special. We would highly recommend considering Pentridge if you’re looking to celebrate your love in a fun, community-driven space with TONS of heart and personality. You’d be hard pressed to find a better customer service experience anywhere else!

We had our wedding reception at Rivet in October and it was an absolute dream. Harry and his staff went above and beyond what we were imagining. We were able to have a band, a DJ, and a cocktail musician that were all outstanding. Rivet was even able to provide sound and lighting technicians that made sure everything ran smoothly. We had 240 guests with plenty of space and guests, both old and young had the best time. We used catering from J.J. Ratigan Brewery and Three Brothers Grill that provided a unique and excellent dining experience that we’re still hearing compliments on. The venue itself provides such a unique wedding atmosphere and was WAY more affordable than all of the “big name” places in the area. My only complaint is that the night couldn’t last longer! 10/10 experience.

From our first tour to the day of our wedding, Michael and his staff went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly and treated us with so much kindness. They are true professionals and we were at ease knowing they had every detail taken care of during our event. The food was also incredible and we are still getting compliments on it from our guests. We booked out the Guild House for two nights during our wedding weekend, and it was one of the very best decisions we made throughout the entire planning process. We used the space to get ready before the wedding, for our after party, and for a brunch the following morning. The staff was there for anything we needed, and then stayed out of the way so the place felt like it was all ours. You truly have the entire place to yourself, and it feels like an enormous home for you and your closest friends/family rather than a hotel. The rooms are some of the most luxurious in the city, and easily the best for the price. 10/10 would recommend incorporating the Guild House into any part of your wedding weekend.

We held our wedding reception at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in November 2024 as well as hosted our wedding room block. We'd highly recommend for both! We have nothing but absolutely positive things to say about Andreea Denes with catering. We've worked with Andreea for about a year and a half now and she feels like family! Andreea is both professional and personable and ensured we knew all our options for a reception at the Loews. Andreea helped us take advantage of all the amazing event spaces the Loews has to offer (cocktail hour on the 33rd floor, reception in the Millennium Hall, after party in Bank & Bourbon) as well as created a custom package for our reception and cocktail hour that reflected everything we could have wanted. Maria and Lena with the room reservation teams were so wonderful to work with, taking amazing care of our families and accommodating all our changes and requests. The entire Loews staff (catering, concierge, front desk, etc) was absolutely wonderful during our stay. Our guests are still commenting on the exceptional service. About a third of our wedding guests stayed at the Loews and expressed it was the perfect location to spend the weekend exploring Philadelphia.

Where do I even begin? From the moment I started searching for a “micro wedding” venue, I kept coming up short—until I stumbled upon Elegant Celebrations. What an absolute hidden gem! If you’re looking for a small, intimate, and truly magical setting for your special day, this is the place to be. From our very first interaction, Liz—the fabulous owner—was attentive, kind, patient, and incredibly accommodating. She instantly understood my vision and did everything in her power to bring it to life. I was this close to being a “crazy bride,” but Liz’s calming presence, flexibility, and commitment to making everything perfect turned my stress into pure joy. She treated every detail with care and made me feel like my ideas truly mattered. The venue itself is stunning, spotless, and beautifully designed—but because I’m extra (and proud of it!), I wanted to add a few personal touches. Liz and her team not only welcomed my ideas with open arms, they helped bring them to life with such care and professionalism. I was included every step of the way, and it truly felt like a collaborative labor of love. I chose what I believe was called the Ultimate Package—which included early entry, access to the bridal suite, and a gorgeous presentation of fruit, donuts, orange juice, and water. Of course, I had to add my own sparkle to the bridal suite décor, and Liz let me do so with a smile and total support. On the day itself, Liz and her team ran the wedding like a perfectly orchestrated production. I honestly felt like royalty! Everything went off without a hitch, and the love and warmth in the air were palpable. It was everything I dreamed of—and more. And I cannot forget Jazmine, our wedding officiant! From the first phone call, we just clicked. She was warm, funny, intentional, and felt like an old friend I had known forever. She brought such grace and energy to the ceremony—it wouldn’t have been the same without her. Liz even did the unimaginable: she literally stopped traffic so I could get the perfect street photo. Who does that? Liz does—and it’s just one of the many reasons why she and her team will forever have a special place in my heart. If you’re thinking about booking Elegant Celebrations—do it. You’ll be in the best hands with people who genuinely care. Liz, Jazmine, and the entire team are rare gems in today’s world. I’m forever grateful for them and for the unforgettable memories they helped create.
