Golden Thistle Design

5.0

Boone, NC

Our mother-daughter team specializes in creating currated floral designs that realize the beauty of the event as you envision it. We consider it our joy to help you achieve your unique wedding - making it a reflection of you and your story. Our style is very naturalistic and derives its inspiration from the beauty of the mountains and the soft, graceful lines found in nature. We believe that flowers should speak to your heart, kindle a sentiment, and awaken a beloved memory.

Hannah and her team are the essence of professionalism. Kind, courteous, and easy to work with, not to mention incredibly talented. Golden Thistle's designs are anything but ordinary, yet exude classic bridal beauty all the same. Not only have I recommended their services to countless brides as a wedding planner, but I have also used Hannah's beautiful designs for myself. This team values sustainability and uses local blooms often, hand dyed ribbons, and minimal floral foam. From the tiniest boutonnière with blueberries picked from her own garden to the largest Moongate arbor, Hannah and her team ensure every bloom is perfect and bursting with character. Working with Hannah is to begin as a client and end as a friend, and I couldn't recommend her enough.

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

      Oklahoma City, OK
      • Serves Old Fort, NC

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

True story! I dropped the ball on my daughters wedding greens and missed the 14 day order deadline. I reached out to Flower Moxie, they got back to me almost immediately and walked me through the rush order process. My greens arrived beautiful!! They were fresh and came wrapped with damp paper and ice packs. Sue with Flower Moxie was terrific when I had questions about my order. I don’t review many companies but I will shout praise to Flower Moxie from the roof top!!

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

You can not go wrong with the variety SBB gives you. Whether you want subtle, pops of color, or full color, there is a collection for you. My order arrived early and was stupidly simple to return. The scented packing paper made the realism of these faux florals even more perfect. 10/10

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Elizabeth and Cinda with Lux Lineage are the best florists in the area! It was so easy to work with them when planning my wedding. I had the most beautiful wildflower-esque arrangements and bouquets. The flowers were so colorful and vibrant. They even offered a Brunch and Blooms where my bridesmaids made their own bouquets the Friday before the wedding. We had so much fun with brunch, mimosas, and flowers! :) Elizabeth made it super easy in step-by-step fashion. Not to mention it poured down rain the afternoon of my wedding and Elizabeth was soaking wet putting the flowers on the wedding arch. They are the best! Highly highly highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of working with Sofya & her team for my January 2024 wedding. Her arrangements were ABSOLUTELY stunning, and I can’t tell you how many compliments I got! I would highly recommend letting her do her thing because I told her my wedding colors and agreed to include colors that weren’t necessarily part of the “palette,” and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined!! She is also so much more affordable than other vendors I priced, which was such a blessing since weddings are so expensive. Sofya is a darling woman and I so enjoyed working with her!! I’m going to have to come up with an excuse to work with her again because it was just THAT great! Please please book her - you will be so happy that you did! Thank you again, Sofya and team, for making my wedding floral dreams come true!!!

As my fiancé and I started the wedding planning process, we joked that our loose theme would be “flowers and love.” We knew we wanted lots of beautiful, lush florals as the primary decor focus, and also knew we didn’t want to spend the many thousands of dollars to achieve that look with a standard florist. If you’re in the same boat, and have an appetite for some DIYing, I’d STRONGLY recommend working with Bloom Culture. After some Googling for DIY wedding florals, I came across Bloom Culture and spoke with Allison for a custom consultation. During the call, Allison helped me express the type of floral look we were going for, and built out a custom floral package that would achieve it. She also laid out the delivery and prep process, and we landed on a final package and timeline for delivery. We received a LARGE box of flowers the week before the wedding and were immediately pleased with the quantity and quality of flowers we had received. Allison’s guide mentioned that some crushed or damaged blooms would be completely normal, but everything was so well packaged we didn’t notice more than a few damaged stems. From there, the DIYing began. Between unpacking, trimming, de-thorning, trimming again, building bouquets, arrangements, boutonnieres, etc, etc, it was a LOT of work. However, we referenced Allison’s guides (written, video tutorials) religiously and they laid out everything perfectly. She strongly recommends having plenty of assistants -- pay attention to this advice! Find a few trusted friends or family members who have time and artistic ability and it will make all the difference in your stress levels. The flowers all lasted beautifully for the wedding and we received so many compliments on how they looked. Allison - thank you for everything!
