Burdock Acres

·Ratings include Zola and Google reviews
  • Starts at $225
  • Serves Newport Center, VT

Hi, I’m Ella, the flower farmer and floral designer behind Burdock Acres! Based in Hardwick, Vermont, I grow and design flowers for weddings, elopements, and celebrations throughout Vermont and beyond. What started with a love of growing flowers has blossomed into a business where I get to combine two of my favorite things: working with flowers and helping people celebrate life’s special moments. Whether you’re planning an intimate mountainside elopement or a larger wedding surrounded by family and friends, I love bringing your vision to life with flowers that feel natural, romantic, and uniquely you.

“Working with Ella, owner of Burdock Acres was a game-changer for my daughter’s wedding day. From our first conversation, Ella understood exactly what we were going for and communicated her ideas in a way that felt both clear and inspiring. She transformed our barn venue into something truly elegant, and her creative eye brought our vision to life in ways we didn't even know were possible. Beyond the flowers themselves, the whole experience was a joy—Ella was genuinely fun to work with and made the planning process feel effortless. The quality of her work was exceptional and worth every penny. We couldn't have asked for a better florist to help make the wedding day special.”

“We used Something Borrowed Blooms for part of our ceremony and reception florals, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience! We chose the Jane collection floral meadows and added in some real colorful stems to match our theme—and the result was absolutely stunning. You would never know the base florals were faux! In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

The Faux Bouquets
Rating: 5.0 (44 reviews)
  • Serves Newport Center, VT

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
“We were so delighted to use The Faux Bouquets for our wedding. We ended up having a family emergency that forced us to downsize the size and budget of the wedding just a few months before the wedding, and the team at TFB were so accommodating and helped us to find a solution that still allowed us to use their flowers in our (modified) ceremony. We were a bit concerned about the flowers getting smushed in shipping, but they arrived looking absolutely STUNNING and with plenty of time before the big day. Even my gardener of a grandma couldn't tell they weren't real flowers! We were so happy with how everything looked on the day, and in pictures they look just as lovely. Can't recommend The Faux Bouquets enough! There's no visual difference compared to real bouquets and they are much more affordable. The last big selling point that I would advise future brides, and I did not really consider this, is that because the flowers don't wilt, we could set the decor out the night before--which is a LIFESAVER to not have to worry about on the special day! Anything that will save you time and stress on the day of the wedding is a big win!”

Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Working with Jen for our October 2025 wedding was AMAZING!! From the moment we sent in an online inquiry, Jen was attentive, responsive, thoughtful, and incredibly detail oriented. She got us set up with a project planning doc immediately, and she was SO patient with us even when we were annoyingly indecisive about our vision lol. She met with us via Zoom to answer all of our questions when we were struggling to finish the document (and she is just as thorough and helpful via Zoom as she is via email). Once we placed our final order, Jen was communicative and thorough about the process of what happened next in terms of pickup, payment, etc. When we picked up our flowers, we were ASTOUNDED by how beautiful they were. I mean, we knew they would be beautiful, but truly, WOW. Aside from bouquets & boutonnieres, we also got garlands to use as centerpieces for our guests’ farmhouse tables, as well as small wooden circle magnets with a flower on top (we wood burned the j c into them ourselves) to use as favors. And they all looked incredible. An employee at our venue said that our decor was “the best she’s ever seen this place look,” and a large part of our decor was these flowers. I cannot recommend Jen and Wood and Word Blooms ENOUGH!!! PS bouquet photo is from today (1/5/26)!! The longevity is insane!”

“Emily was the most incredible florist to work with. I am personally not a creative person, but I do LOVE flowers. Real flowers were important to us from the beginning, but we didn’t have an extravagant budget. I was up front with Emily on our budget from the beginning and she helped bring our ideas to life, even when I couldn’t quite articulate what I was looking for. We did end up going a bit over our budget, but not because Emily recommended so, but because she was so easy to work with and I was so excited to bring her ideas in as much as we could. I do not have any regrets here. She created an absolutely stunning chuppah piece that brought our (rain plan) barn ceremony to life. The florals on the tables were the star of the reception with giant breathtaking peonies. And I can’t even express how perfect my bouquet was. I stated from the beginning a wanted a big, wild, and colorful bouquet and boy did she pull through. The men’s boutonnieres complimented the bouquets so well. She was sweet and always available when I wanted to chat through a new idea. Her communication was excellent, with timely check-ins, and easy and clear invoices for payment. I knew where every dollar spent was going, and am so glad we hired her for florals and set-up. Thank you, Emily!! We appreciate you spending your birthday setting up our wedding.”

It was wonderful to have one less thing to stress about. I received so many compliments on my bouquet from the Bright Meadow Collection, and the coordinating centerpieces were absolutely beautiful. “Emily from Tipsy Tulip is truly gifted! Her arrangements are clearly made with love and attention to detail. The only directions I gave to Emily were "no carnations" and "spring pastels" and she delivered the most stunning ground arch, centerpieces, boutonnieres, and bouquets. My bridal bouquet was SO stunning, that I felt a sense of loss when I couldn't take it with me the day after the wedding (we went straight to our honeymoon). I wish I had had more time with it! Emily was also great about repurposing flowers from our rehearsal dinner for cocktail hour on wedding night, and moving our ceremony ground arch into the reception space as well. And the cake flowers...I just can't stop staring at how beautiful our cake was, too! If you want beautiful blooms and an all-star professional team, Tipsy Tulip is the way to go!”

The Ivy League Wedding Studio Florals
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
  • Starts at $1,800
  • Serves Newport Center, VT

I bring both professional and academic training to every arrangement. I studied fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League university, and I apply that same eye for color, composition, and detail to every bouquet, centerpiece, and installation. Your florals aren't just decorations to me. They're a work of art, built specifically for your day. Wedding florals shouldn't force you to choose between beautiful and affordable. I've watched too many couples fall in love with a Pinterest board, then feel deflated by the quote that comes with it. That's not how I work.

“You can't imagine the time I went through finding and screening different florists. I chose The Ivy League Wedding Studio Florals because they responded quickly, were organized, and communicated with me exceptionally well. I had a beach wedding and was looking for a more unique type of table centerpiece than what florists usually provide. The Ivy League Wedding Studio Florals was able to capture my wedding theme perfectly. She was able to create 12 boat floral table centerpieces for our outdoor tables. Guests absolutely loved them and were really excited to take them home afterward. If you've been searching for a long time for a wedding florist, this is finally the right one. I know it was the best decision for me.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Pine and Petal Wood Flowers! I had the absolute pleasure of working with Vanessa Ward throughout the entire process, and she was incredible. I was completely lost when it came to choosing colors and styles, but Vanessa helped me pick shades that perfectly matched my wedding color scheme and flowers that suited my taste beautifully. She was so communicative, kind, and accommodating—especially when I needed my flowers made and shipped on a tight timeline. Everything arrived on time and looked stunning! I would highly recommend Pine and Petal to anyone looking for elegant, timeless, and long-lasting floral arrangements. We plan to have our bouquet proudly on display as a beautiful reminder of our wedding day, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!”

“Planning a wedding living on the west coast that took place on the east coast was a feat in itself already, and we were on the hunt for the perfect florist and found absolute perfection in Tiny Petals. Their attention to detail is truly unmatched, and Moriah herself is the sweetest most beautifully talented florist I have ever met with! She executed our vision of our greenery and Calla Lillies infused Vermont summer wedding with utter brilliance, and everyone could not stop talking about how perfect the florals were all day. June Farm
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Newport Center, VT

We specialize in organically styled weddings and events of all sizes, using only flowers that we grow or forage from our Charlotte 5+ acre farm. Our approach embraces the beauty of big flowering branches, woody shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers, all artfully combined with our seasonal farm-grown favorites like Lisianthus, Dahlias, Ranunculus, Cosmos, and Sweet Peas. We prioritize showcasing what each season offers, helping clients to connect their unique celebrations to the essence of that time of year. There is a distinct beauty in flowers that bloom in their natural season, and we are committed to highlighting that in our designs.

“We booked June Farm for our October 2025 wedding and are still blown away by how gorgeous our florals were! Even though our wedding was in the fall, our color palette was very spring, and I was worried there wouldn't be enough of those shades during that time of year. Brooke, the owner, assured there definitely would be, and she was right - our day was full of light pinks and bright oranges with a pop of blue! I'll be honest, I didn't care too much about the specifics of florals on our wedding day - just that we had some and they didn't look horrible. If this is you, definitely book with Brooke as she can turn the littlest of instruction into your exact vision you didn't even know you had. The one request I had was a hanging garland behind our head table, and I sent Brooke one inspo pic and she nailed it. What I loved most about our arrangements were how natural everything looked! I absolutely hate when florals look like a big pom-pom and was thrilled to see that ours looked whimsical yet professional. We had so many guests compliment them throughout the night! Definitely don't hesitate to book with June Farm if you're thinking about it!!”
