Since we planned the entire wedding ourselves, their help even from this first meeting was invaluable. Maya and their partner the day-of were an absolute blast to have at the event. Even the usual stiff family formal photos felt fun and organic with their guidance, and they were always up for impromptu shots and suggestions. They make sure that their work is organic, dynamic, and really captures the essence of the couple’s relationship. I asked them to use my Polaroid alongside their professional gear and they were really enthusiastic about the prospect, so now I have a set of excellent Polaroids in addition to their amazing high definition work. “I first booked Shenyce through glamsquad for my bridal shower and it was the most amazing coincidence ever (minus meeting my husband of course). I had no real idea what I wanted besides a natural look with a light smokey eye and there, in my midtown hotel room, Shenyce brought it to life and then some. I received so many compliments on my makeup and I just felt so so beautiful. I was glowing and I really do think it was the confidence from my look. Afterwards, my mother was insistent that I have Shenyce do my bridal makeup. I felt a bit awkward having to tell my artist that I booked that she was being given the boot because I met someone amazing but knew if there was one time I had to be mean, it was to have the best for my big day. I stalked Shenyce and slid into her DMs and am so so happy she said yes! She drove all the way to Northern jersey to make my bridal vision come true. I felt completely confident with Shenyce at the helm. The end result was perfect. Having a caked on look where I was unrecognizable was my biggest fear. I felt like myself still and like I wasn't wearing too much makeup (I typically wear no makeup so that's saying a lot!). I was beaming even more than I was at my shower somehow. Everything also stayed on the whole night without and reapplication or touch ups even through the dancing and the summer humidity. “We hired a day-of coordinator because although we wanted to own the process of planning the wedding, we did not want to be point persons for vendor questions, logistics, and issues on the day of the wedding. We chose Merry By Mia because we instantly felt like we were in good hands, were reassured by the fact that Mia herself had recently gotten married and knew firsthand what kind of stressors and wrinkles go into a wedding day, and because we were impressed with her podcast. We benefited greatly from working with Merry by Mia! We had a sounding board for questions throughout the planning process, making big undertakings (like finding and booking transportation for 120 people!) much much simpler. And of course, on the day of, we would not have rested nearly as easy if we hadn't known that Mia was there to represent our best interests when we couldn't be there ourselves. We also heavily relied on Mia to understand what we wanted/what was important to us and translate that to our other vendors, especially when we felt we weren't being listened to. This was invaluable to us. Overall, we were incredibly satisfied! From big planning moments down to helping me into my reception dress, the day would not have gone nearly as smoothly without Mia. I would absolutely recommend working with Merry because from my experience, Mia was reliable, understanding, and excited! It means a lot when vendors who live and breathe weddings still have the ability to get as excited over the details as you do. I would say to absolutely prioritize this expense in your budget. For me, I know that if I had allocated that money to any other line item I wouldn't have been able to fully enjoy it because I would be dealing with so much unnecessary stress and wrangling without a point person. Mia went above and beyond, listening to the long list of very particular requests we had and made sure everything was perfect. We're so thankful to her! “”
