It's weird describing the "me behind the camera" but I'll start with the fact I'm the mother of two of the cutest identical twin girls you've ever seen. This business allows me to spend most of my time with them and even some of my work time and for that I am forever thankful. While finishing my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education at Western Carolina University photography sort of just happened. By the time I graduated I knew that photography was what I wanted to do full time. I shot a wedding the day I was supposed to walk the stage at graduation and I've been chasing light with some of the sweetest couples in the world ever since.

“Victoria is truly an incredible photographer, but she is an even more incredible person. When COVID-19 shut down the country, we decided to move our wedding date earlier (from December to October) to try and avoid a second, more severe, wave of the virus and hopefully have everyone we love in attendance. She was able to move to our new date, and she worked with us to reschedule engagement pictures twice when there was a concern about possible exposure. She not only goes above and beyond in her business and is flexible and punctual, but she also goes above and beyond to help her clients with whatever they need. She helped me, the stressed-out bride, calm down by helping create a wedding-day timeline that I sent out to the wedding party, the director, and vendors; that timeline saved us so much time and kept us on track and low-stress on the day of the wedding. I made a mistake and did not communicate the correct address of the wedding venue to her, and she still got to the correct venue early, helped organize us, got all the pictures we wanted, and even made my husband's boutonniere when the florist accidentally did not include his. I cannot stress enough how amazing Victoria is: the whole process of working with her was seamless, she is so personable and puts people at ease (my husband is not comfortable in front of a camera, and she relaxed him with laughter and caught his true nature in a gorgeous style), and she made a very stressful time much less stressful by being super supportive of us and going above and beyond what is required of her. Our engagement pictures, my bridal portraits, and our wedding pictures were all beautiful, and she had them all edited and back to us in record time. She was able to guide us into choosing the most epic location, connect us with incredible vendors, and put us at complete ease. We’re super laid back and she made everything so easy and chill. We were taken care of through the entire experience. We we’re nervous about exploring somewhere new, but Des knows her stuff and was able to navigate us through the location scouting process seamlessly. The day of felt nothing like a photo session and more like hanging out with a really cool friend that gave you as much space as you needed to be vulnerable with your partner, while also keeping the hype up. She had such an incredible pulse on our needs. We were nervous about looking awkward or feeling camera-shy, but she knew exactly what to say to help up feel comfortable. There was no awkward posing or forced emotion, just really subtle prompting that helped you ease into each moment. The entire day was amazing and none of it would have happened without her skill and guidance. We felt like we could trust her to keep us present in the most important moments. We cried when we got our images, they were absolutely breathtaking and 1000% us. We loved being able to share this day through these images with all of our friends and family that weren’t there. They were able to laugh and cry with us. Getting your gallery from Des is like getting to relive your favorite day all over again. She is an absolute gem that impacted our lives in such a positive way. We had no idea how gorgeous Montana was until Des blew our minds with all of the incredible knowledge that she has. The year threw quite a few twists and turns at us from venue changes to date changes, yet Melissa stayed patiently by our side. For that we will forever be grateful.
