“My husband and I were from out of town and hired Sean to photograph us at a Christmas gala at the place we got married. He was accommodating to last minute changes to make the most of the session and even went above and beyond to make it happen. Upon first impression, he was upbeat and had a vision. We were outside in sub 30 degree weather with fading evening light as well as low light inside a building and he was up for the challenge. We ended up with beautiful images in less than ideal conditions and that is what makes a great photographer. Sean has a sense of humor and an eye for that perfect photograph. She went completely above and beyond- when the bridal party was finishing photos outside and it started pouring, she got SOAKED while shielding my bridesmaids and making sure everyone was able to get safely from the park to the vehicles to inside the venue. She literally used herself as a shield and then proceeded to to help everyone get touch ups while they dried off- by the time the ceremony had started, no one would have had an idea that everyone had been rained on. “I was looking all over for a photographer and when I landed on her Insta, I fell in love with Jumara's editing style, so of course I contacted her asap a year in advance just to make sure she was available for my date!! Overall, Jumara went above and beyond to capture the beautiful moments of our special day. Her attention to detail must be noted! One of our bridesmaids forgot to take a hairband off her wrist, and Jumara noticed it immediately and pointed it out. When we were taking family photos, she also spent extra time repositioning every specific person so that the overall photo would look balanced. I honestly just expected her to snap the photos as is, but nope, she made sure to stage each and every person so that everyone's face could be seen (and there were a lot in our LARGE family)!! Speaking of our large family, Jumara had SO much patience and handled it like a champ. I felt like it was so chaotic, but she didn't even seem to break out a sweat! At one point, she decided it would look better if some individuals sat down for the photos, so she and her second shooter quickly and tirelessly grabbed chairs for them (I would have been physically exhausted if I had to do that lol). I really appreciated her very specific posing instructions, so I didn't have to think about where to place my hands, or whether to smile, etc. Jumara was great about communicating with us throughout the event to make sure we were okay with taking more photos in certain areas, etc. I was constantly worried we were running behind schedule, but she reassured us when we had extra time to take even more photos, even including some spontaneous ones with my family before the ceremony! I felt sorry about her having to deal with the groom and I's large families, from coordinating our formal family portraits with its MULTIPLE configurations, to PATIENTLY following us around during the reception as we greeted each table and took pics. And at the end of this stressful and eventful day, as we were saying goodbye, Jumara didn't even seem tired at all! Thank you Jumara, I am so glad I found you!! Also, shout out to her assistant photographer Kirsten Joci for working tirelessly as well throughout the event! At one point amid the chaos of taking family photos, she even ran and got us boba to make sure we stayed hydrated and energized! Thank you! After the wedding, 3 days later, we received a few photos as a sneak peek, and they look amazing! I can't wait to get the rest!! (eta 4-8 weeks)”

It's pretty awkward to have your photo taken by a couple of strangers, but our hope is that by the end of the day, you feel like you had your photos taken by a pair of old friends. To us, it's not just about the end product you receive – it's about the adventure and the memories we created in order to do so.

“My (now) husband and I had the opportunity to do a styled shoot with Phillip and Heather in August 2020 and it was one of the most fun, creative, and easy-going photoshoots I've ever done. My husband is not comfortable in front of the camera, and they had him laughing, smiling, and relaxed during the photos of us together and the ones of him alone. I can honestly say the photos they produced are my favorite of any shoot I have ever been a part of (I model and have done a lot of wedding style shoots through the years). When we met Phillip and Heather through the styled shoot, we had already booked a photographer for our actual wedding in Sonoma in May 2021 (we were a covid wedding and original date was supposed to be April 2020). Our wedding finally happened, we got our photos back from the photographer we booked out there and while they’re beautiful, they don’t compare to what Phillip and Heather created during our styled shoot together. The creative eye and direction they give is what gets the incredible shots that make your jaw drop, and that is something that sets them apart tremendously. I was wishing SO bad that we had them as our photographers for our big day. So much so, that I asked them to do a redo shoot for us in my gown and his tux so we could recreate the big day as much as possible and have the beautiful pictures they create to keep forever!! And those pictures are my absolute favorites we’ve ever taken!! I just love them so much and cannot recommend them enough. We laughed until we cried a few times while we were together and created magic in between. They’re great people and the perfect duo. Anyone would be lucky to work with them. After that wedding I began to take classes because I knew if I wanted to be a great artist I would have to learn the skill and understand the business. Taking the degree in Marketing that I had earned from Texas Southern University and the Master’s in Business Administration i poured it all in to my new established business .

“Maurissa is outgoing and friendly! She was responsive in communication in the beginning. Maurissa made sure everything was lined up, provided a timeline for all the vendors, made sure we got every "must have" photo. Maurissa also helped make sure we enjoyed OUR day. I was very worried about the timeline and being behind on everything but she made sure to remind me that there is no timeline and this was our special day so anything we wanted she would make happen and the guests would be okay entertaining themselves until we were ready! We loved the photos Maurissa took of us, but there was a bit of delay in getting them all.”

She even provided a detailed wedding guidebook and questionnaire, which helped us envision the exact vibe we wanted.
