While their communication was a bit delayed leading up to the event, they were ultimately effective in executing on the day-of. The DJ kept the party going all night with a good song selection, though they did play 3 Taylor Swift songs in a row at the start, which we would have preferred more variety. The MC's ad-libs got a little overbearing at times, but overall they did a nice job sticking to the schedule and making important announcements. We'd recommend HiMotive to other couples looking for an energetic DJ.”

“Ana & Jimmy were in a different league from the moment we met them. On our first Zoom, they listened to everything I said about our taste and our vibe… and then gently told me that our beloved saxophonist idea didn’t match anything we had described. They recommended a guitarist instead— and thank goodness, because they were absolutely right. Their planning process was incredibly thoughtful.. and for me, hilarious. Their music surgery? Thorough and genius, and apparently visible to them before you hit submit. Which meant they saw me type things like “Haed pass,” “No thank you,” and “What even is that??” Live. Thankfully, they have incredible senses of humor. They checked in multiple times, did a full site visit, and showed up with a sound team who stayed all night to make sure everything was flawless. They even coordinated our private outdoor first dance with our violinist while sending the music inside to guests — seamlessly. But the reception is where they catapulted into untouchable territory. They don’t just sing and DJ… they perform. Including: * the full, committed N’SYNC “Bye Bye Bye” choreography * A Blink - 182 elder millennial scream-along that transported us back to 2003 * Coming onto the dance floor to hype everyone * Interacting with guests like they’ve known us forever. I don’t dance— and I was on that dance floor all night. Our guests are still texting us about how unreal the band was and we’ve heard “best wedding I’ve ever been to” on multiple occasions. “I don’t even know where to begin — Mike was a highlight of our wedding experience from the time of booking to even now after our wedding has wrapped up. He is a class act, someone who really listens and values you, not just as a client but as a person. We left each call being so appreciative of his kindness (something that can often be left out in the wedding industry) and in awe of his talent/wedding expertise. He helped us curate an amazing reception flow and welcomed our ideas with open arms. Walking into our cocktail hour to his live acoustic set is something I’ll never forget. Our guests were amazed! From our dinner playlist, he shuffled the perfect variety of our favorite songs it had me in tears the entire time. How he handled our announcements and all MC-ing throughout the evening was like nothing I’d seen photographing weddings over the past 5 years — a complete contrast to the flashy, showy MC taglines that feel like you’re being announced into a boxing arena, lol. That wasn’t for us and that also isn’t Mike’s style. We felt like the guests of honor and like each of our planned dances were equally as important to him that they went smoothly and were a special moment for our families. For example, my dad was nervous for his welcome toast and asked for a microphone on a stand instead of handheld. I watched Mike’s assistant literally *run* out to their car and back to accommodate in record time. The dance floor was packed and the songs Mike chose from our playlist were a perfect balance of the genres we love. Mike checked in with us about song/vibe suggestions and was the best advocate for what *we* wanted all day long. (This is the impact of getting to know your clients well!) At the end of the night, Mike organized our remaining guests into an exit tunnel following our private last dance and it was the best way to end the night. While we didn’t want the party to end, we will ALWAYS recommend Mike wherever we can so we can enjoy his talents again. After the wedding Mike sent us a collection of videos and photos he took throughout the day and we will always cherish them. He also wrote us the most thoughtful card and a gift that again, brought me to tears. Last thing - a little thing that might go overlooked - his equipment, lighting and set up, are SO good. Very tasteful set up and the light effects took the party to the next level. Ok! I could go on and on! But I’ll leave with this THANK YOU, Mike and your team for every little thing. We are so grateful.”
