Overlook Barn is such a stunning wedding venue — we immediately knew it was the one without ever visiting any others! The owners and staff were so kind and helpful from the very beginning. They were always there to answer all of my questions, shared a preferred vendor list (which was incredibly helpful), and guided us through every detail. Katie and David, the owners, went above and beyond — even writing us personal cards that they left in the bridal suite and polishing rooms, which was such a thoughtful touch! Not only does Overlook Barn have the most breathtaking views, but it also offers 3 venues in 1. We had our ceremony in Mary’s Meadow, our cocktail hour in the Cliffside Barn (which may have one of the best views you’ll ever see), and our reception in the main Overlook Barn. Each transition was seamless, thanks to the amazing staff and our coordinator. We truly couldn’t have chosen a better venue. Our guests were in awe of the beauty and charm of Overlook Barn, and we’re still getting compliments! We had the BEST experience with our daughter’s wedding! The location is beautiful and very unique. Very spacious as we had 140 ppl. Easy to find, great parking, and a wonderful layout. From planning to execution, Courtney was more helpful and kind than we could ever expect. She and her family went above and beyond to help us have the perfect wedding. Accommodations were made for every need we had, even those unexpected. And for the Dads, financially it was worth every penny!

The arches they had available were stunning, and they worked closely with us to ensure we could follow all COVID-19 restrictions while still having a magical wedding. With having to reschedule due to lockdowns, Kelli and Blake went above and beyond to make our wedding day an amazing, safe experience for our family and friends. Chetola was the ideal location for our dream wedding. Accommodations are second to none. From the moment you enter the grounds, it's clear this resort is a special place, run by capable staff with a passion for hospitality. Meris in particular is wonderful, very knowledgeable and prepared for anything. The condos provide spacious, luxury accommodations for family and friends alike. During our time here we enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony, walks around the lake, and pickleball at the resort's courts. Meris and the team worked closely with all our vendors to ensure everything went perfectly on our wedding day. Even in the face of imminent rain - which thankfully held off - the Chetola staff was prepared with several contingency plans. Every detail was thought through, nothing was missed. You're in great hands here! We've heard nothing but praise in the weeks following our wedding from guests who thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The only problem with Chetola: you may not want to leave!

I wanted a wedding venue in the mountains of North Carolina. I viewed so many venues from Salem to Banner Elk. Nothing compared to The Fields of Blackberry Cove. They were easy to set up a viewing appointment with. They walked us all around the property, including multiple ceremony options and a large guest house with a bridal suite and two guest bathrooms. Doug, the owner, offers his own catering which was beyound incredible. We did a buffet style and it was all delicious. Doug even made me my own cauliflower steak - I'm a vegetarian. Through the entire process Doug and his team, especially Carmen, were a pleasure to work with.

Emerald Ridge made every part of our weekend so perfect and special. This location and views are absolutely STUNNING. The owners truly cared so much and made our day magical. Their organization and communication are both top notch. We recommend using the coordinator at the venue, Malorie, as she was the true MVP and knows every detail at this venue back to front. We booked the no rush weekend and used the venue for our rehearsal as well. Our dog stayed with us all weekend as well which made us feel right at home. All in all we couldn’t be happier and enjoyed every minute here.

We loved having our big day at Weaver House. We used their full planning services and their catering. Alexandra is very easy to work with and is that calming presence on your wedding day! The venue itself if beautiful - we picked it partly because of the gardens outside since we love the outdoors and love spending time at our local arboretum. The catering was amazing as well - Chef Joey and Chef Brit take time to learn what you and your partner like and can put those spins on dishes you choose. The value is also great for the Western North Carolina area. We are so glad we kept our wedding in WNC after Helene and could support a wonderful space that truly wanted our day to be what we envisioned.

We can also include lodging in the five-bedroom Villa for up to 12 people, ceremony and reception furnishings, and day-of services. (We are there to support you through every step of your day!) We got married at Stony Woods Estate during the weekend of Hurricane Helene. This storm devastated WNC in ways that are hard to put into words. Entire roadways, bridges, and towns were washed away, leaving communities isolated and in crisis. We chose Stony Woods because our families and friends were going to be traveling from out of state. Stony Woods offered the perfect setup. In addition to the main villa, the property has several beautiful/modern cabins within walking distance. As the storm wreaked havoc on the surrounding areas, 24 of us, including young children and elderly relatives—hunkered down at SW for 3.5 days, waiting for a safe route out. Despite the devastation around us, we were incredibly fortunate. Stony Woods sits high enough up the mountain that the venue remained mostly untouched, aside from a few downed trees and the loss of power/running water. The property became a sanctuary offering stunning mountain views once the storm passed. These moments of natural beauty provided comfort and healing as we navigated the chaos. When the situation turned dire, Kim and Steve stepped up in ways we never expected. They brought us vital supplies—diapers, baby wipes, food, water, and more. Their kindness and support were a lifeline while there. We had planned for a wedding with 75 guests, complete with vendors but of course, none of that happened. We didn’t have our full wedding party. Even our officiant, had no way of reaching us/vice versa. We didn’t know if she was safe, let alone if she’d be able to officiate our ceremony. Amid the uncertainty, Kim asked if we still wanted to get married and if there was anything she could do to help. With everything going on, the thought of still having our wedding seemed almost impossible. I replied, “We don’t even have an officiant.” To my surprise, Kim told me that Steve is ordained. She reassured me that if we wanted to move forward with the ceremony, Steve would happily step in. The morning of our wedding, everyone on the property—including Kim and Steve —came together to make it happen. My stepmother did the decor so we had them with us, My SIL did my hair in an RV outlet, and my MOH did my makeup with whatever we had. We used a BT speaker to play whatever songs we already downloaded on our phones. I don’t even remember what song played as I walked down the aisle, but it was perfect. For our reception meal Kim and Steve made a giant batch of spaghetti over their fire pit since we still had no power/were running low on food. Somehow, they also managed to bake a wedding cake—SO THOUGHTFUL. Despite the lack of vendors, guests, and traditional wedding elements, our people came together to create such a special day – a true testament to the power of community and love. The cherry on top? Our photographer, Ashley Sieg, miraculously made it to us with no cell service and no idea if we were still having a wedding. She captured stunning photos that we will cherish forever. Kim and Steve were more than just venue hosts; they were our lifeline during a harrowing weekend. Their generosity, resourcefulness, and genuine care made all the difference. From bringing supplies to officiating our ceremony, we couldn’t have done it without them. Stony Woods Estate is a breathtaking property. But beyond its beauty, this place holds a special magic. If you’re on the fence about booking your wedding here, do it. You won’t regret it! Don’t be surprised if Kim and Steve become a lasting part of your story.
