Burdock Acres

  • Starts at $225
  • Serves Groton, VT

Hi, I’m Ella, the flower farmer and floral designer behind Burdock Acres! Based in Hardwick, Vermont, I grow and design flowers for weddings, elopements, and celebrations throughout Vermont and beyond. What started with a love of growing flowers has blossomed into a business where I get to combine two of my favorite things: working with flowers and helping people celebrate life’s special moments. Whether you’re planning an intimate mountainside elopement or a larger wedding surrounded by family and friends, I love bringing your vision to life with flowers that feel natural, romantic, and uniquely you.

“Working with Ella, owner of Burdock Acres was a game-changer for my daughter’s wedding day. From our first conversation, Ella understood exactly what we were going for and communicated her ideas in a way that felt both clear and inspiring. She transformed our barn venue into something truly elegant, and her creative eye brought our vision to life in ways we didn't even know were possible. Beyond the flowers themselves, the whole experience was a joy—Ella was genuinely fun to work with and made the planning process feel effortless. The quality of her work was exceptional and worth every penny. We couldn't have asked for a better florist to help make the wedding day special.”

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (110 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Groton, VT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
“Flower Moxie provided great options for access to specialty flowers to utilize at my wedding. With great communication following floral delivery, and provided further instructions to ensure preservation of the roses at delivery. I was stunned with how well the roses lasted from being delivered 2 days prior to the wedding and lasting for 2-4 days following the wedding. Blue Delphinium was the least impressive, and I was not pleased. Sad. Wilting and unable to hydrate. I was not impressed. I ordered: Orange Free Spirit Garden Roses (50 Stems, 3.60/stem) and Light Blue Delphinium (50 Stems, 3.00/stem) and spent 354.”

The Faux Bouquets
Rating: 5.0 (44 reviews)
  • Serves Groton, VT

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
“I was so impressed with The Faux Bouquets for our wedding! Brittany, the owner, was incredibly quick to respond, thorough in her communication, and had such a friendly and fun personality. She really went above and beyond to make sure we got the perfect faux floral arrangements for our big day. The quality of their work is truly unique and you can tell they are so passionate about what they do. We were able to take advantage of a special deal on the flowers I wanted, and they even upgraded some of the pieces for free! Compared to other faux floral companies in the area, we were able to get much more for our money. I'm so glad I took the time for the 15 minute consultation with Brittany - it was so helpful to see the items at scale and she customized our order perfectly. Our wedding is not until 2027 but we got them early and I LOVE them. I also like that the suites aren’t cookie cutter so each of my bridesmaids have their own style.”

“Emily was the most incredible florist to work with. I am personally not a creative person, but I do LOVE flowers. Real flowers were important to us from the beginning, but we didn’t have an extravagant budget. I was up front with Emily on our budget from the beginning and she helped bring our ideas to life, even when I couldn’t quite articulate what I was looking for. We did end up going a bit over our budget, but not because Emily recommended so, but because she was so easy to work with and I was so excited to bring her ideas in as much as we could. I do not have any regrets here. She created an absolutely stunning chuppah piece that brought our (rain plan) barn ceremony to life. The florals on the tables were the star of the reception with giant breathtaking peonies. And I can’t even express how perfect my bouquet was. I stated from the beginning a wanted a big, wild, and colorful bouquet and boy did she pull through. The men’s boutonnieres complimented the bouquets so well. She was sweet and always available when I wanted to chat through a new idea. Her communication was excellent, with timely check-ins, and easy and clear invoices for payment. I knew where every dollar spent was going, and am so glad we hired her for florals and set-up. Thank you, Emily!! We appreciate you spending your birthday setting up our wedding.”

Ordering from the Rose Thief’s preset wedding packages made the entire process so simple, which I really appreciated because wedding planning involves so many decisions already. It was wonderful to have one less thing to stress about. I received so many compliments on my bouquet from the Bright Meadow Collection, and the coordinating centerpieces were absolutely beautiful. “Tipsy Tulip Designs was a wonderful florist to work with for our wedding. From the moment I reached out, Emily was so very helpful. “The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!”

“We hired Paula and Samantha pretty down to the wire of our wedding, but they immediately jumped in! We contacted them on Friday, and they had our proposal ready by Monday! Our flowers fit our vibe perfectly: I wanted something to pull from the venue's brick, but not look too "autumny" for our January wedding, and they nailed it! They look and feel like "regular" flowers, but they'll last forever and have so far held up perfectly! We're gifting a number of our pieces to our mothers and grandmothers as keepsakes from our amazing day, while saving the rest to display around our house! We're so happy to have such beautiful mementoes to remember it by!”

The Ivy League Wedding Studio Florals
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
  • Starts at $1,800
  • Serves Groton, VT

I bring both professional and academic training to every arrangement. I studied fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League university, and I apply that same eye for color, composition, and detail to every bouquet, centerpiece, and installation. Your florals aren't just decorations to me. They're a work of art, built specifically for your day. Wedding florals shouldn't force you to choose between beautiful and affordable. I've watched too many couples fall in love with a Pinterest board, then feel deflated by the quote that comes with it. That's not how I work.

“I was referred to The Ivy League Wedding Studio Florals by a friend who used them for her wedding. They can definitely make very unique table centerpieces if you are into that. They also offered conventional choices as well. The point is they offered options which is exactly what I needed in a florist.”

She was on-time, and the option to rent glassware and floating candles was so helpful for us. Thank-you, Christina!”

“Planning a wedding living on the west coast that took place on the east coast was a feat in itself already, and we were on the hunt for the perfect florist and found absolute perfection in Tiny Petals. Their attention to detail is truly unmatched, and Moriah herself is the sweetest most beautifully talented florist I have ever met with! She executed our vision of our greenery and Calla Lillies infused Vermont summer wedding with utter brilliance, and everyone could not stop talking about how perfect the florals were all day. I highly recommend hiring Tiny Petals for your wedding because you will never be disappointed! Moriah thank you SO much!!!”

June Farm
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Groton, VT

We specialize in organically styled weddings and events of all sizes, using only flowers that we grow or forage from our Charlotte 5+ acre farm. Our approach embraces the beauty of big flowering branches, woody shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers, all artfully combined with our seasonal farm-grown favorites like Lisianthus, Dahlias, Ranunculus, Cosmos, and Sweet Peas. We prioritize showcasing what each season offers, helping clients to connect their unique celebrations to the essence of that time of year. There is a distinct beauty in flowers that bloom in their natural season, and we are committed to highlighting that in our designs.

“We booked June Farm for our October 2025 wedding and are still blown away by how gorgeous our florals were! Even though our wedding was in the fall, our color palette was very spring, and I was worried there wouldn't be enough of those shades during that time of year. Brooke, the owner, assured there definitely would be, and she was right - our day was full of light pinks and bright oranges with a pop of blue! I'll be honest, I didn't care too much about the specifics of florals on our wedding day - just that we had some and they didn't look horrible. If this is you, definitely book with Brooke as she can turn the littlest of instruction into your exact vision you didn't even know you had. The one request I had was a hanging garland behind our head table, and I sent Brooke one inspo pic and she nailed it. What I loved most about our arrangements were how natural everything looked! I absolutely hate when florals look like a big pom-pom and was thrilled to see that ours looked whimsical yet professional. We had so many guests compliment them throughout the night! Definitely don't hesitate to book with June Farm if you're thinking about it!!”
