“Deciding to hire an officiant for our wedding was not an easy decision. We had always liked the idea of a close friend or family member performing the ceremony when we eventually got married. But after moving to AZ and not having family or our long-time friends nearby, it seemed like added pressure to ask of someone who would also need to travel out for such a big day. So I browsed for local officiants who could get the job done. When I found "The British Pastor" I thought... "Sold. Everyone loves a man with an accent. I mean, c'mon!" The tagline definitely hooked me (my fiance was harder to convince though). After a short call, Des was able to put my soon-to-be husband at ease and convince us that he was the man for the job. I can confidently say that Des is doing this for ALL of the right reasons. I don't know if I've ever encountered a more genuine person who feels as honored and privileged to serve the people in his community and share in their special moments as he did. He was SO easy to work with that I questioned whether he would actually show up the day of the wedding. But every nervous email I sent his way was always quickly followed by an excited reply and reassuring words that he would be there, on time, right where he needed to be. Rest assured, he was (and was dressed the part!). Our guests loved him and his charming personality. People had a hard time believing that we hadn't met or had some long-time friendship before the day of the wedding--thats how natural he fit right in to our story and the energy of the day. We even had guests telling us that they want to renew their vows now, just so they can use him for their ceremony.
Everything was beautifully paced and had an honest, personal delivery to it. We walked away feeling like the vows we shared were so meaningful to us, and to Des as well. As if all of the words shared that day, ours and his, will stay with all of us for a long time. We love that he will always be such a sweet and positive memory from our wedding--someone we will quite literally never forget. (So thank you again, Des.)
If you are on the fence and need a professional, just stop browsing now. Book Des. I would recommend him over and over again to anyone needing an officiant. And if charming accents are your thing, win-win ;)”
