I am a Photographer that is in love with true honest emotional love; the silly faces, the bad jokes, the awkward moments.

Awarded Best of Zola
Lauren is truly an incredible artist. She knows how to pose her clients and never made it feel awkward or forced. It’s like there wasn’t even a camera there, just a couple of friends hanging out! :) Lauren joined us for our elopement and then a couple days later for a reception with around 40 people. She was very thorough in helping us decide where we wanted the elopement to happen, and was very patient when I changed my mind 10 times. She brought me a bouquet that matched my dress and champagne bottles for us to pop. She is incredibly thoughtful and you can really see how passionate she is about what she does. She was so quick to edit and send us the photos, I seriously cannot express how much of a joy it was working with her. I never once worried about capturing these special days with Lauren there, and now we have such beautiful photos to cherish forever.

The Whidbey Island DJ Collective

DJ Matt Bell and the WIDC are based on Whidbey Island and serve the greater Seattle and North Puget Sound region. Over the past few years, we've created 35+ celebrations where couples felt genuinely supported, their guests danced all night, and the energy matched their vision perfectly. With Matthew as lead DJ, Lee as our second, and a third joining soon, we're built to handle your day with expertise and care.

Awarded Best of Zola
Matt was our wedding DJ back in June but he contributed so much more to the event! Matt showed up right on time (early in fact) and came fully prepared with all the equipment and lighting for the tent to ensure the day ran smoothly. From start to finish, he made the entire process incredibly easy and stress-free. We had an amazing experience with The Whidbey Island DJ Collective and DJ Matt Bell. Prior to the wedding weekend, we walked the entire property together to discuss placement, flow and sound logistics since we had the ceremony and the toasts/dancing in two separate locations - both of which he covered seemlessly on the day of our wedding. Matt asked all the questions we hadn’t thought of yet ourselves :) even volunteering additional equipment to make logistics easier for the jazz band we hired. He took the time to build a thoughtful playlist that perfectly matched our preferred music styles and wove in song requests from our guests. The energy was fantastic, and the dance floor was always packed from moment we opened up the floor. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ to keep the party going and make our special day even more memorable. We highly recommend you hire Matt and his team for your next event!

Odd Fellows was a total dream for our wedding reception: the team was responsive, thoughtful, and caring (and filled with recommendations for local vendors); the space comes with magical lighting fixtures with the perfect touch of whimsy; plenty of room for dancing and catering and a full band on the clever corner stage; a stunning view of the water surrounding Indian Island amidst the Madrona trees. Most of our guests all stayed a few blocks away right in town and could walk home within 10 minutes. Because we used all local vendors, and everyone knows and loves Odd Fellows, coordination was a breeze. Our whole experience felt like a family operation because, here, community is clearly the premium value. We highly recommend Odd Fellows for a wedding, wedding reception, or any event meant to be filled with love--the space both holds and amplifies it!

Venue considerations

  • Does not have a dance floor
I cannot recommend Roche Harbor Resort more for your wedding! The space is gorgeous and incredibly flexible. We had our ceremony in the garden, but there's a chapel for rain so there's no need to worry about what you're going to do in the event of it. The patio and reception pavilion were really open (so thrilled to have found a venue with an indoor-outdoor reception space), but still felt really intimate. Their team were so friendly, kind, patient, accommodating, and creative. Seriously, I could not have pulled this off without them. The help they gave me when planning (such as weighing in on signature cocktails, talking through menus, and coordinating linens) was invaluable. You don't have to worry about knowing all the little things for the venue because they are going to know them already. So many of my guests did not use the block code, but they still managed to provide me with a list of everyone. They got us exactly the kind of rooms we needed (we did a lot of DIY decor and brought our pets so we needed a room with space) and the condos were a really lovely home base for our group. And they were able to make changes and provide us with pack n plays and have everything ready for us early when we got in. Which we did not expect, but were so thankful for! They really work with you and your vendors to make sure everyone is on the same page and the day-of really shows that. The service was SO seamless and impeccable. They sent a golf cart about 6 times because I was running late on my schedule without complaint (I am so sorry about that, y'all!) They let me wait in the lobby while we setup the first look. They held me up and strapped my heels on once I got to the garden. They brought me a plate of appetizers and a cocktail as soon as we walked to the patio and then for the rest of the night I never even had a chance to think about needing something. Someone always beat me to it. I spent no time at all coordinating once the event got going, which is such a rare thing for events in general let alone weddings. The staff knows exactly what they're doing. The signature drinks were spectacular, I wish I was drinking a strawberry rhubarb margarita right now. The restaurant staff is incredible, the front desk crew, baristas, shop cashiers, housekeeping are all the best. The bartender and drivers were incredible troopers who were somehow more energetic than me by the end of the night. There is too much to mention that I can never list it all or thank everyone enough! I will always think of here for any event in future, since the wedding was a one time thing. haha TL;DR: Unbelievable value and incredible wedding experience. Book here.

I have photographed a handful of weddings at Fireseed and every time it is a 10/10 experience. They run a tight ship, but with a relaxed attitude, which I find to be a wonderful combo for vendors, couples and guests. There is always someone nearby who knows what's going on, and as a photographer, I never feel like I have to take on any extra responsibilities (which happens too often at other venues). The property itself is stunning and there are so many areas to take beautiful photos. Dawn & Dave are so good at what they do, and I can't wait for my next wedding at the lovely Fireseed Catering!

MARQUI ARTISTRY
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
  • Beauty professional
  • Team of 1
  • Starts at $1,295
  • Serves Freeland, WA

Skin-first. Light-handed. Intentionally refined. Marqui’s signature Organic Makeup Style™ is rooted in intuitive, personalized artistry — enhancing natural features with clean structure, luminous texture, and effortless polish. Her work is about precision restraint: softly sculpted definition, seamless tone, diffused edges, and glowing skin that still looks like skin. Raised in the studio of internationally acclaimed oil painter Dy’Ans, Marqui developed an early understanding of color harmony, balance, and the subtle play between light and shadow. That artistic lineage shapes her approach to bridal and event makeup today.

Marqui was a pleasure to work with for my wedding day. Her communication was great - she was prompt in responding to my messages and very accommodating in scheduling my trial and day-of appointments. She is clearly talented and experienced, my makeup looked absolutely beautiful and lasted all day without feeling heavy or cakey. My groom loved my look too! Marqui was hired for the day, and she even helped the catering staff serve cake after doing some final touch-ups. I highly recommend Marqui for any to-be-weds looking for a skilled beauty artist that will help make your special day perfect.

Asher&Olive
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Caterer
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Freeland, WA

Asher & Olive, The Catering Company On Fabulous Orcas Island. Specializing in Pacific Northwest Fusion Cuisine, with an emphasis on providing local, sustainable foods presented in a stylish manner. We partner with Buck Bay Shellfish Farms to bring our fresh seafood straight to your table and your vegetables and field greens are plucked from the gardens on the day of your event.

If I could give Asher&Olive 10 stars, I would! We got married back in September 2023, and my husband and I were originally planning to get married on Orcas Island. We met with Gavin, whom we immediately vibed with, and then after much debate and a few other factors, we ended up moving our venue off-island. My parents told us there were so many other local vendors that we should consider going with because to them it seemed extreme to have an Orcas Island vendor travel all the way to us, but we were adamant that if they were willing to travel to our new venue, we wanted to keep them. Luckily they were! We ended up getting married in Poulsbo and were still able to keep our "forest formal" theme, even though we were no longer getting married in the woods. Gavin was great with all the details, and was in contact consistently about color schemes, décor plans, while keeping things simplistically chic, and of course food ideas (though we trusted the menu completely after tasting the first appetizer we tried - the roasted hibiscus flower with goat cheese! *chef's kiss*). The menu was full of locally sourced goods - from the salmon to the homemade bread, to the delicious salad and Beecher's mac and cheese. Truly, it was so nice to not have to pour so much thought and energy into the menu because we trusted that Gavin's team would pull it off, and they did it flawlessly. Because we changed the venue, I ended up doing most of the décor myself, but I was a DIY bride, but Asher&Olive brought our forest formal theme to life with their catering and details on the buffet table. Their staff were extremely friendly, the food was phenomenal, and guests were raving about it - we didn't even have any food leftover because people liked it so much they went back for seconds! My parents said towards the end of the evening that we were right to have fought to keep them as our caterers, because everything was delicious and perfect. We heard that praise again when we visited them over the holidays. I 1000% recommend working with Gavin and his crew!

We've been honored to create wedding films for hundreds of incredible couples. Each one of their stories is distinctive and we pride ourselves on creating moving films that artistically convey those love stories. We believe your wedding is not just about one day. It’s about your story leading up to that day and the stories that will come after. Our wedding videos bring your day to life – allowing the two of you to relive every laugh, every tear, and every moment that went by in a flash. Your loved ones will thank you for allowing your celebration to serve as a legacy of family history for generations to come.

https://vimeo.com/386274683 From the very beginning, booking and coordinating with our wedding videographers was simple and stress-free. They were incredibly prompt on the big day and kept everything moving smoothly without us ever feeling rushed. Their friendly, upbeat attitude made it easy to relax and enjoy every moment.
Because they knew the layout of Stambaugh so well, they anticipated shots and transitions perfectly.
That familiarity with the venue helped everything flow naturally throughout the day. They captured so many meaningful moments, both big and small, that we still cherish.
Our wedding was documented beautifully and authentically.
Even now, six years later, we find ourselves watching the footage on a regular basis. The video instantly brings us back to how that day felt. These guys truly helped us forever capture our wedding, and we can’t recommend them enough.
