We had our wedding at South Farms on the most beautiful day in August 2025 (August 23rd), and we could not have asked for a more seamless, enjoyable, and memorable experience. From start to finish, everything felt effortless thanks to the incredible staff—especially our planner, Sam Blick. Her expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication made the entire process so easy for us. Sam and the team went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. They supported us with décor decisions, room layout, and the day-of flow, and even made the week leading up to the wedding stress-free by letting us drop off décor items early. In fact, Sam even started unboxing and decorating for us the day before (well outside of her job description!), which was such a kind and thoughtful surprise. They even hosted a “decor trial,” allowing us to mock up flowers, tablescapes, and other details in advance—which was a huge help in visualizing the day. And then there’s the venue itself—absolutely stunning. Our guests (and us!) were in awe of the rolling hills, the wildflowers in bloom, and of course, the iconic White Barn, which truly feels like a centerpiece on its own. The setting gave us the perfect mix of elevated elegance and intimate charm—we didn’t need to add much to make the day feel beautiful and special. We also have to talk about the food. This is not your typical “wedding food.” The executive chef is unbelievably talented and flexible, serving dishes that highlight thoughtful, locally sourced ingredients. It felt like dining at a true farm-to-table restaurant. Weeks later, we’re still getting texts from guests raving about the lobster rolls and filet mignon! We’ve been to weddings where the food was cold or forgettable—South Farms was the complete opposite. Yes, the price point is higher, but if food is important to you, it’s absolutely worth it. We left feeling confident that we got every bit of value out of our investment. We are so grateful we chose South Farms as our wedding venue. It gave us the most perfect day, and we cannot wait to come back for their socials and events to relive memories of our favorite day at our favorite place.

We knew from the start that to ensure the most important day of our lives went off without a hitch there was no one but CT Wedding Group we trusted. Their reviews speak for themselves but first hand we can tell you they do them little to no justice(having been guests at weddings at their venues). Imagine our surprise when we were able to see the limitless possibilities of their newest space and how it completely shattered our reality of what a wedding day could be. We are lucky enough to say we are the first wedding booked for their newest venue and the sky is the limit. The renderings they provided were unlike anything we've seen anywhere else throughout this process. The vision of what the space can and will become has us more excited by a venue than we thought imaginable. Their attention to detail, earnest care to make our day specific to us, and their overall devotion to their craft is unrivaled. There is not stress, just excitement and its all thanks to their incredible team, and astounding venue. They preach that their 9-5 is the most important day of their clients lives and they take that seriously, and boy do they practice what they preach. CAN NOT say enough about this experience thus far, and as if that wasn't enough, their planning team make the experience simply incredible (and fool proof). This is not a diamond in the rough situation. They set a standard for what the industry should be and then deliver a thousand fold. We've only before seen the end result of their reputation as guests, and now as clients can say that words just simply fall short of the reality. This. Is. What. Dreams. Are. Made. Of.

If you're looking for a beautiful and spacious venue for a fair price, Revel 32 is the place to go. I'm surprised there prices aren't higher, and that's just being honest. My now wife and I rented Revel 32's space for our wedding party and not only did we love it, but our guest are still complimenting the place , 2 weeks later. The design is modern yet elegant, and the service is top notch. Bianca and Judy were attentive, flexible, insightful and worked hard to make our wedding day beautiful. I have loved coming to the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat museum since I was a child so when my husband and I got engaged, we knew we had to get married here. It was such a magical venue and was reasonably priced. They truly don't try to nickel-and-dime you like a lot of other wedding venues, they just want you to have a good experience. The bridal suite was a beautifully decorated air-conditioned train car. We also decided to add on a roundtrip steam train ride down to the CT river and a steamboat cruise as our cocktail hour (honestly didn't cost as much as you'd think...). Our reception was inside the hall and was perfectly air-conditioned and decorated. We did a buffet option and the food was good! If you decide to get married outside, just remember that it IS an active train yard so make sure your officiant has a microphone. Meredith and Tyler were very easy to work with while planning the event. I highly recommend getting married here. Oh, and your photos will look INSANE.

  • Combines timeless elegance with history

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists

I honestly forget if I already wrote a review for The Lace Factory, but recently I was reflecting on our wedding day and a few things stuck out that had me so thankful we held our reception at The Lace Factory. From the beginning of the planning process the team is extremely clear and communicative. I love a checklist and theirs is one that ensures nothing will be forgotten. Our guests are still sharing how gorgeous the venue was, how incredible the food spread was, and one detail I was surprised by, from my cousin who has been to their fair share of large celebrations. "The food was not only delicious, but they managed to serve such a large group and the food was actually hot!" This speaks to the well-oiled machine that is The Lace Factory and it must be emphasized that this machine has heart. They accomplished another feat of having my family and I not worry about the severe allergy of my dad, as they adjusted the menu accordingly, without us having to miss out on all the options. This carried over to assist some guests who also had specific dietary needs. I realize this sounds boring, but it is wonderful to know your guests are safe and fed and focus on the celebrating! The Lace Factory is a venue that can transform your wedding into something beyond your dreams while holding true to your vision.

We had a fantastic experience with Ravel. Everyone was exceptionally communicative and accommodating throughout the process and on the day of, especially our coordinator Eman. She stood out as a queen of logistics and made me feel like the planning process was always under control. The bridal assistant, Jade, was fantastic to have nearby on the day of, and Joe, who handled setup, was also a standout. Our guests raved about the food and the view. Overall, the aesthetic of the venue was an incredibly backdrop to our photos, and it really set the tone we were hoping for. Our reception was in the penthouse, and the glittering skyline really made the party feel sophisticated and chic, and unlike any other wedding I’ve been to. We ended up with 150 guests, and the room felt full in a lively way without ever being overcrowded. We had some concerns about the hotel after reading reviews, and those concerns were promptly alleviated. They even upgraded our room to the top suite, which was the perfect size for 9 women to get ready on the day of. Would definitely recommend this venue, especially a reception in the penthouse if it fits your guest count.
