Windy Knoll is our family ranch. When my husband and I got engaged, we wanted nothing more than to get married at Windy Knoll. Rather than rent a tent for the occasion, my mom decided to build a wedding venue! The wood beams that make up the bones of the Wedding Barn were originally erected in the 1840s in Maryland. The original barn was the site of several battles during the Civil War, partially burned down, and rebuilt in the 1860s. A company called Heritage Restorations disassembled the beams and transported them all the way to Round Top, where they were reassembled and turned into the Wedding Barn.

We had always wanted to move an old country church and renovate it into a living space. We found that historic churches do not come up for sale often and probably not acceptable to walk up and say “we want to buy your church”. Rob decided to design our own church and drew the plans for what was to become our first lodging venue called “The White House on the Hill”. Following the success of The White House on the Hill and receiving requests for additional space we constructed the newest venue, The Barn at The White House on the Hill.
