My name is Jake Moreland and I am the owner of Two Birds Photography. I am the proud father to three awesome sons, Graysen, Bear and Milo - who I fondly refer to as my unpaid interns. I also have a three-legged dog, a blind cat, and another insane cat who is usually underfoot. I enjoy hiking, camping, painting, black and white film photography, and I collect vinyl records.

Capturing wedding days is my bliss. We may start as strangers but after , many "clients" consider me family and I take care of family. A photographer based out of Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area. Growing up, I always had a passion for capturing and editing photos. Taking photographs is more than a profession. It’s a true lifelong passion. I love to capture genuine moments, and weave together a narrative through these photographs. The key to these special moments is to capture what is most true and treasured, and to showcase them in a timeless and authentic way.

You are probably assuming my about me section will have a story about how I always wanted to be a photographer, I came out of the womb holding a camera, but that couldn’t be me. I stumbled into it, literally. I had no plans to become a wedding photographer. I was either going to follow my dad’s path and go to dental school, or become a social worker. But a freshman in college decided to shoot a few photos for fun, and now over eight years and almost 200 weddings later, I could not imagine myself doing anything else. This is my dream job!

Jay & Nicole Vega decided to pursue a career together in the art of Photography. Met & married in Chicago in 2013, two people set out on a business venture of a lifetime. While Nicole is the main photographer of the company, we have also expanded and hired reliable, talented photographers to work along side with us, while still maintaining a small business feel.
