Hi friend, I'm Katelyn! Thinking back, I really have always loved documenting my life through photos, even if I didn't realize that was what I was doing. Motel Cinema is based out of San Diego, Ca and our approach to weddings is inspired by the untraditional travelers before us, who hit the road in search of adventure into the unknown. We don't like boxes and we don't want wedding films that fit into one. If that tickles your fancy let's get weird.

Just a little backstory on how I got into this business. When I was a child, I loved taking pictures of everything. And I mean everything! (I get that from my mom.) Now my dad didn't share this same joy as me because back then it was all film and every snapshot I took...he knew he had to pay to develop. We love to look back on that time of my life now and see where it got me. Its a funny story to reflect on, but so rewarding to see a joy turn into a passion and that passion turn into a career!

Duncan and I really wanted our photographer to capture our true emotion and to get candids of us, and Lucia DID THAT! The day felt blissful and a key point for us was that we got to enjoy the day without it feeling solely like a photoshoot which I think speaks to Lucias talent and confidence in her craft. She was good at giving guiding advice for posing without us feeling posed. I put together a Pinterest board and shot list which she really did a great job pulling inspiration from.
