We began our journey in 2015 with a dusty gravel pit and vision for a new home. The gem was the stunning 30 acre crystal clear lake. After purchasing the property we found ourselves hosting church activities and work functions as people truly loved being here. Slowly, we began adding amenities to the property. In 2020 one of our daughters got engaged. As she began looking for a venue to host her wedding we came to realize that the perfect spot was right in front of us. We wanted it to be a very special place and we went to work to create a beautiful wedding venue. There are many opportunities on the property for one of a kind pictures. There are three picturesque options in front of the lake for the service and a new reception building that can seat up to 200 guests. With a 5 acre campus larger weddings can be accommodated with tent rental. We offer DJ service, PA rental, bar service, and exceptional vendors for catering and coordination services.

“This venue was GORGEOUS! We toured the venue and booked it in February when everything is gray and brown in Michigan. When we showed up for our rehearsal last week we were blown away by the beauty of the lake, the lush green lawns, and the view of the sunset on the water. The venue owners were very kind, attentive, and efficient in setting the venue up as we requested. They additionally upgraded their sound system after we booked and were gracious in allowing us to use the new version for the cheaper price we booked for. I would recommend this venue to any bride looking for an immaculate indoor/outdoor venue experience!”

“My fiancé, Rica, and I didn’t originally plan on having our wedding and reception at Bay Pointe. We hadn’t looked at any place that far away, 1 hour from home. Two weeks before the wedding our original venue had a fire and we had to scramble to find a new location. Mariesa Colavincenzo, the Catering Sales Manager at Bay Pointe, came to our rescue. With her and her staffs’ help we were able to pull off a miracle and have a beautiful wedding using part of the restaurant and the deck, looking out on the lake… a perfect backdrop for our vows and the reception. Everyone remarked about how beautiful the setting was and also how wonderful the food was. We had 2 appetizers and a 3-entry buffet that was absolutely delicious! Rica and I thank Mariesa and everyone at Bay Pointe for making our wedding a wonderful reality when it seemed it might not happen at all. -Dr. Mark Crapo”

“From the moment we booked Blue Heron Barn, Bob and Tiffany made us feel like our wedding day mattered to them as much as it did to us. Their communication was quick and friendly throughout the entire planning process, and they went above and beyond to handle every detail before we even had to ask. On the day of our wedding, we didn't have to worry about a single thing—the team anticipated our needs and took care of everything seamlessly. When a few rowdy guests popped up at the end of the night, Bob and Tiffany handled the situation with grace and professionalism, getting everyone out safely and without any drama. They genuinely care about each couple's experience, and it showed in every interaction we had with them. They thought of absolutely everything, and offered to help with anything we needed. They were upfront about pricing from the very beginning, there were no hidden fees or up charges and everything was very straight forward. We got married a few weeks ago and still have people telling us how seamless and beautiful the day was. We can't recommend Blue Heron Barn enough for anyone looking for a venue that delivers exceptional service and support.”

“My husband and I had the most wonderful wedding at Sherman Lake! I attended camp there as a child, and the gorgeous Michigan woods—and scenic lakeside chapel garlanded with a wisteria—was a perfect space to honor our love. The reception hall was gorgeous, food incredible, and planning and staffing utterly seamless. The best part was the venue manager, Mandy. We call her our wedding fairy godmother: she took the stress fully out of the planning, used her culinary degree and experience to plan an unforgettable meal, and thought of everything— so we could just be present on one of the most important days of our lives. Thank you Mandy and Sherman lake!”

Cold Springs Resort
Hamilton, IN
  • Up to 350 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $2,500

Hamilton Lake's Cold Springs evolved from a 1870 farm purchase by Simpson Watkins. By 1885, Watkins Grove hosted picnics, leading to a hotel (1898), dance hall, and early 1900s recreation. Cold Springs Cottage Park, platted in 1896, grew significantly, with a unique leasing system. Sundays featured bands and speakers. Visitors arrived by train. A larger hotel opened in 1914, and the dance hall became a central draw with live music. A beach area developed later. The hotel prospered through the 20th century, adding a bar and modernizing. An 18-hole golf course was built. Dancing remained popular with big bands, later transitioning to rock. Today, Cold Springs offers a hotel, dining, bar, beach, golf, cottages, and retro dances, still family-run after five generations.
