“About 5-6 months before our wedding, our original caterer re-quoted our pricing that I had signed over a year ago and it had increased by almost 15k! I was so distraught and stressed, as you can imagine. Luckily I found Soraya through a Facebook wedding group after I had asked for a second opinion. SHE SAVED MY WEDDING DAY. My husband and I are Cambodian and Chinese and trying to find any upscale asian caterer in the NorthShore was darn near impossible. I had my heart set on an upscale multi-course asian banquet menu. We ended up with 10 courses! Soraya made it happen and all the food was made on site at our venue in Peabody (the Olio). Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious everything was! To think I almost went with drop catering as I thought that was my only option. Thank goodness I found Soraya! As anyone who has ever thrown a big event knows, the food will make or break an event. And Soraya's food MADE our wedding a huge success. Soraya made sure fried foods were crispy, hot foods were HOT, and each table service was flawlessly delivered. Even our foodie families were happy with the food and were so surprised at how authentic everything tasted. We had menu items that were Chinese and Cambodian. We were sold just stepping into John's tasting kitchen; his team were there to provide not just a taste of the catering options, but the personality and level of service you could expect as part of your day. It's clear that John is a master of his craft and cares deeply about his menu offerings; he delivered diverse, delicious dishes, worked within our budget, and ensured that our guests with dietary and mobility restrictions had just as wonderful an experience as everyone else. We loved that Tailgate Gourmet is a self-contained operation, which worked perfectly for our outdoor wedding on a private property that didn't have infrastructure for a professional on-site kitchen setup. The team quickly assessed and adapted to the space we had available, and left no trace they'd even been there by the end of the night. Our guests (who are not shy about sharing feedback) let us know this was the "best wedding food EVER" and that the tenderloin and Mediterranean planked salmon were more delicious and well-prepared than any restaurant dish they've had in the past.
