Lakeside Occasions is a family-owned wedding barn in the heart of northern Indiana's Amish country. Our historic dairy barn was built in the late 1880's and has been in the family ever since! Original element of the 1928 Armory construction and subsequent Newman Recreations Center were incorporated into the even space renovation to provide the perfect blend of past and present.Iron-barred doors used to secure armers and thick concrete walls reinforced with brick to accommodate the National Guard Armory and shooting range lend a rustic industrial aesthetic. Wood from the recreation center bleachers line the dramatic bar and the orginial hardwood floor was dressed up to grace the ballroom. The vaulted timber ceilings and exposed truss work allow the dazzling period chandeliers an opportunity to lend an air of elegance to the urban decor. Wedding events can take place at the following St. Joseph County Parks: St. Patrick's County Park, Ferrettie/Baugo Creek County Park, and Bendix Woods County Park Red Barn Package: St. Patrick's Farm is a historic barn built in 1925. Before becoming an event space, this barn was a dairy barn on St. Patrick’s Farm. The inside has been renovated, but the original barn doors, windows, and silos remain. The Pfeil Pavilion – a large, open-air shelter behind the Red Barn, is included. This space is perfect for your wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, or even outdoor games. The Goodhew Gazebo is just a few steps away and is a popular spot to exchange vows. Other popular venues at St. Patrick's County Park include the Fragomeni Shelter, Covered Bridge/Grape Arbor, and/or the Manion Cabin. The Glenn Bauer Shelter and the STUDEBAKER trees at Bendix Woods County Park are popular for wedding ceremonies. Baugo Station at Ferrettie/Baugo Creek County Park is also a great option.

The Chapel at The Morris Estate (formerly Morris Farms) has been providing a breathtaking backdrop for weddings since 1938. E.M. Morris built The Chapel as the Centre Meeting House on his 1,000 acre farm in Niles, Michigan. It began as the setting for his daughter's wedding and has since hosted important events for both the Morris family and community. Although there have been renovations to add modern conveniences, the property's quaint atmosphere and rich heritage will continue to be maintained. The Hopewell Barn is located about 1/2 mile south of the historic Hopewell Church. Built in 1872 and purchased by Deb in 2018, the church is listed on National Historic Register for its ties to Gene Stratton Porter. Gene was a famous author in the early 1900’s and the area of ‘Hopewell’ was used as the locale for the settings for several of her books. The name ‘Rustic Barn at Hopewell’ was selected to pay tribute to historic roots of the Hopewell area.

The gorgeous ballroom features elaborate crystal chandeliers, elegant draperies, state of the art audiovisual technology, and a balcony overlooking the quaint cityscape of Elkhart below. The LEX 530 building was once the home of Pacemaker Trailer Co., one of the earliest RV companies in Elkhart.
