The Lucas Farm was originally an 1875 tobacco farm. It has been transformed into a picturesque estate nestled in nearly 500 acres of longleaf pine stands. The farm features a refurbished farm house where the bride and bridal party get ready, a bar shed, caterers kitchen, climate controlled barn featuring the original wood inside, a new barn that can be used as the plan or rain backup plan, a lovely pecan orchard for outdoor ceremony and a refurbished schoolhouse for the groom and groomsmen to get ready. La Esperanza-Ranch is a family owned farm located in rural Delco, just thirty minutes from Wilmington, and a short drive from Leland, NC. Tara Creek has many different areas for your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and even rehearsal dinner. We have enough spots (indoor, outdoor, and partial) for everything to be in a different location if desired! We can make your event walk-in ready or you can set up yourself and we will simply assist during your event. Our packages are buildable and we pride ourselves in personalizing every celebration to fit your needs! Fun fact about us is that we began as a working farm originally but now only partially. We now hold weddings, corporate events, rodeos, concerts and even sell Christmas Trees at Thanksgiving! Everyone says the pictures doesn’t do it justice as soon as they walk in which is a huge compliment! It’s usually the other way around and photos are deceptive! In 1833 Mr. Byrne purchased the land from Mr. Newberry. At this time the house and store were on the land. Later on Mr. Byrne sold the land, and it change hands several times..." The house served as a mill home, store, and the Gray's Creek post office for many years.
