Everything about this venue is amazing. The true Kansas views, the wonderful staff/owners, and the beautiful facilities are just the tip of the iceberg regarding all the great things I have to say about Fireflies Farms. I got married in June 2024 and still receive many compliments about my wedding. Everyone comments on how beautiful the grounds/buildings are and how fun the space is. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Lisa (the owner) was so helpful!! I cannot thank her and her event coordinator enough for making sure I thought of everything, coordinating the day of, setting up the venue, and working with me on the unique activities I had planned throughout my wedding day. I got married in their meadow, and I have an elderly family member who has mobility restraints. They didn't think twice about using their golf cart to shuttle them to ensure my loved one was able to participate in such a special day! I cannot thank them enough for being so thoughtful in those little but important details! Also, the venue already having a stockpile of decor to choose from and decorate with was amazing and eliminated one more thing I had to worry about. Not that you need much decor since the venue is so pretty on its own that every corner is a beautiful backdrop to your photos!

Berry Acres was an incredible venue for our wedding. From the very first interaction, their communication was prompt, thorough, and thoughtful. When my fiance had to leave to help with hurricane relief in Florida, the team at Berry Acres worked closely with us to ensure our wedding day would still happen when he returned. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond was truly remarkable. The venue itself was beautiful, romantic, and perfectly clean - the ideal setting for our special day. We had such an amazing wedding at The Oliver Building. Having the venue for the whole weekend made our weekend run so smoothly. We had our rehearsal Friday night, and brought everything over so we didn’t need to deal with it Saturday. Then got ready in the amazing upstairs suites Saturday morning. We had a great time, and Caitlin was so easy to work with! The only reason I took a star off is that we had some issues with the bar. We made it clear from the start that we wanted to prioritize the bar, and didn’t want long lines. Because of that, they said we would have 3 bartenders, and would batch some of our signature cocktails. Unfortunately, we only had two bartenders, despite giving tips for 3, and there were no cocktails batched. We did have a pretty long line at our bar most of the night because of this. All in all, it was an amazing venue for our wedding!!

We have raised two children here and have used our barns and property all these years to raise horses, cows, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, and dogs. We have 30+ years of wonderful memories and stories on our little piece of paradise! Our barns were built in 1944 by a previous owner, Walter Kurzweil, who our street is named after and who used the property and barns for a dairy farm. Walter Kurzweil had deep ties to the Raymore community as well as had family connections to the Maxine Dean family (Walter was her Uncle), another prominent Raymore name. If you go back even further, our property was granted to a young man in 1857 as part of the “ScripWarrant Act of 1847.” At that time, public land was gifted through this Act to military personnel for their service in the Mexican-American War.
