Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge is a family-owned mountain lodge in Glacier View, Alaska, about 2½ hours from Anchorage and minutes from the Matanuska Glacier. Couples say their vows on our lawn under the wedding arbor with the Chugach Mountains behind them, with our hand-scribed log Grand Lodge as a beautiful indoor backup. The dining room and lounge seat up to 100 guests, with extra seating on the covered porch, and become a dance floor after dinner. Our in-house kitchen caters every meal, and our full bar pours craft cocktails and high-end Scotch whisky. The whole wedding party can stay the weekend in 21 renovated and newly built rooms and cabins that sleep up to 60 guests. Bonfires, the hot tub, yard games, axe throwing and disc golf keep everyone together between events. Weddings run from Memorial Day weekend through the weekend after Labor Day.

Your hosts, Matt and KellyAnn, here! We met in San Diego and have always been drawn to saltwater. We left in the exploration of more things wild: mountains to climb, waters to kayak, trails to run, perspectives to encounter. We spent 3 years on the road, living out of our car and exploring North America’s public lands and communities, stumbling upon spaces, places, and people who inspired us and ultimately sharpened the pencil that created Salted Roots. Seward won our hearts, with mountains, the ocean, and a national park right in our backyard. Alaska is wild - wild enough for us vagabonds to settle down roots… and then naturally the idea for Salted Roots sprouted. We bought the land in 2017, were married there shortly after, and began throwing together our future plans for the project with close friends. Our community helped us clear the land, build our website and make our vision a reality.

Our thoughtfully crafted packages let you exchange vows beside serene blue pools on the glacier, celebrate under an elegant event tent, or toast your love story by a crackling fire on the lodge lawn — all designed to highlight Alaska’s natural wonder while keeping your day seamless and stress-free.

We now offer a basic package which includes Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with honeymoon suite and Sunday until noon for clean up. Our Venue has: 3 lush green fields 2 garden areas, 1 with water feature Bridal bungalow with private restroom Grooms' quarters 2 gazebos 2 different styles of 360 chairs 20 custom crafted wooden 3'x8' tables 1 custom head table 2 arbors 3 indoor restrooms Ample off street parking Also included in the basic package is our 3,500 square foot Sperry sailcloth tent. Additional options include the Bridal bungalow as the honeymoon suite for an additional 95.00, a vintage trailer (2024) for 150.00 and 2 glamping tents at 125.00 per night. We also offer catering and custom wedding cake design by our award winning Chef and have packages to include rehearsal dinners, day of charcuterie boards and day after brunch baskets. The Chalet is located on the foothills of Hatcher Pass, with spectacular views of the Chugach Range, Knik Glacier, and the Mat-Su Valley. It features a 2300 square foot banquet hall with 25-foot-high cathedral ceiling, large windows, and a welcoming layout for up to 150 guests indoors, and two large outdoor spaces for larger events.
