The Matanuska Glacier Retreat in Glacier View offers a stunning setting for intimate elopements, with sweeping views of the Matanuska Glacier Valley and Chugach Mountain Range. Available Monday–Friday, couples enjoy two hours for their ceremony with up to 10 guests. The Complete Elopement Add-On Package ($800) includes chairs, tables, a wooden arch, lawn fire pits, and a Bluetooth speaker. Outside vendors require prior approval.

    We had a great wedding and experience working with Matanuska Glacier Retreat. First, the venue is absolutely gorgeous. We booked it without even seeing it first, but when we showed up to view it a few weeks before the wedding, we were blown away. There is a perfect view of the glacier itself. The ceremony faces the glacier providing the best backdrop and view for guests. The reception area is also great. It's a nice covered tent with cute lights and a solid and nice floor. There are also fire pits to hang out around and a yard you can make whatever of it you want for the reception. We did yard games and our bar service was on the lawn. The bathrooms were nice, clean and well stocked. We worked with Kelsey in planning our day and she was very receptive and attentive to details. The retreat center does the major setup (chairs, tables, and whatever else you rent). We rented the arch and it was very cute and made for a nice, simple backdrop. We had rented the fire pits as well and they were a nice touch to the ambiance. My favorite part was that we did not need a lot of decorations. The glacier view really speaks for itself and the grounds are very nice and well kept.

    Matanuska Glacier Retreat was an exceptional venue and a literal dream. They supplied needed rentals (fire pits, radiant heaters, arch, tables, chairs, blue tooth speakers and microphone) and helped us with all information we needed to coordinate with our vendors. The venue was STUNNING and such an amazing experience overlooking the glacier. Kelsey helped us with logistics via email prior to the event and was available on site in during our ceremony and reception to help ensure our catering service went well and other background pieces (trash was managed and bathroom were stocked). We coordinated catering with Sheep Mountain Lodge and everything could not have been more perfect, despite not getting access to the venue until 10am to set-up, we were done in plenty of time for our 3pm ceremony. The new bridal lodging they are building on site is going to be such an amazing bonus for future weddings!
