Your love story unfolds at our purpose-built wilderness venue, The Wonder, an elegant, light-filled pavilion surrounded by 14 acres of untouched Alaskan beauty. To ensure a flawless, stress-free morning, we feature beautifully appointed, separate getting-ready spaces. The bride and wedding party can pamper and prepare in the spacious, premium comfort of our dedicated Bridal Suite within the Bear Den log home, while the groom's party enjoys an equally upscale, comfortable lodge space to relax before the ceremony.

Weddings in the Wonder are Wonderful

The Wonder is a log, pavilion-type structure, open on all four sides and rectangular shaped. It is finished with beach rock and driftwood so that it blends in with the spruce and alders. The ceiling is clear Lexan to let in the light and the warmth of the Alaska sun while the floor is covered with astroturf.

This is a real Alaska log building.

This is a fully equipped, 1-1/2 story, first-class log cabin vacation home with lots of Alaskan décor plus selected items recognizing Captain James Cook's third voyage when he sailed by this location in 1778. This building is stocked with supplies for your convenience.

The Bear Den Vacation Home, with capacity for 9 guests, has a total of 4 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with queen-size beds (one on the first floor and one upstairs), a bedroom with 4 twin beds, and a small bedroom with one twin-size bed. Two full baths - shower bath upstairs and tub/shower bath on the first floor.

Description

This package provides everything you want for a great wedding while allowing you the freedom to customize as you please. The rate is the price for one day and overnight. Lodging for the wedding party is included. You can choose one, two or three days for your event. You can consider adding on a day-of coordinator (one-time fee of $1200) catered meals (priced like restaurant charges), or additional nights lodging. And our staff will be right there to help you during the full time of your event.

    Perfect wedding venue

    Bear Paw Adventure was the perfect choice for our wedding day. From our first conversation, the team showed they genuinely cared about making our vision come to life. The coordinator and staff listened carefully to what we wanted and went out of their way to handle every detail, making sure everything ran smoothly. The venue itself is stunning and has plenty of room for guests to move around comfortably. The cabins are comfortable, spacious and beautiful! The whole place is beautiful and very well taken care of making it a perfect background for stunning wedding pictures. We created beautiful memories there and felt grateful for how the whole team worked together to make our day unforgettable. We can't thank Bear Paw Adventure enough for their warmth and hard work.

    Wonderful and Exceptional Venue

    The location is beautiful and the venue "The Wonder" is unique and spectacular. I had only 3 weeks to put a reception together for my daughter and I live in the lower 48. The Ogle family helped with everything! John Sr. helped expedite the contracting, Corrine helped with the logistics of the event (giving great suggestions), and John Jr. was so great to help with anything we needed at the site and on the day of the event. The sound system was perfect and so easy to use. We had rain the day of the event and with the large overhangs we had no problem staying dry and comfortable. Parking was easy and we were even able to drive the elderly attendees right to the venue. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue and the family who runs it. It is just magical! They were a "heavenly gift!" THANK YOU!

Yes, you can bring your own alcohol. You do have to comply with all applicable state requirements
Yes, we have a few takeout and sit-down restaurants in Anchor Point and there is large assortment of restaurants in nearby Homer.
The drive from Anchorage takes about 4-1/2 hours by rental car. You can also fly to Kenai, which is about 1-1/2 hours from our location.
Yes, Bear Paw Adventure has four vacation homes with capacity for up to about 32 guests. And there is additional lodging available in the area. Early reservations are recommended as lodging fills up in the summertime.
