I’m a wedding videographer located in Lubbock, TX and i love my job. When my wife and i got married everything was perfect except afterwords when all I had to remember of the biggest day of my life were still pictures!?! I deeply regretted not hiring a videographer for my wedding and have lost the chance to correct that mistake. Now I get to shoot gorgeous weddings with beautiful couples reflecting and capturing through video all the laughs, tears of joy, heart felt moments, and love between them. So that they can replay those moments in their hearts forever.

    We had a completely unprofessional experience with Steph. We contracted to have an associate film our wedding. We didn’t find out who would be filming until a week and a half before our wedding, and never received their contact info despite asking so our coordinator could get in touch. We contracted with the expectation that the associate would have a similar editing style to Steph’s, but the end product turned out completely different in terms of editing as well as washed out color grading compared to Steph’s more high-contrast, true-to-life color grading. I gave Steph feedback for revision, but the revised film still had issues as the color grading was still inconsistent, switching between washed out colors, true-to-life, and extremely warm/cold tones throughout. I messaged him to see about a second revision through our Honeybook Facebook messenger (where we had been messaging before), and didn’t hear from him for over a month. I finally heard back once I texted him directly, only for him to tell me then that he stopped using those platforms. IMO it's completely unprofessional to stop using client facing platforms with no message forwarding/notice for those who want to get in contact with him. He then informed me that the associate videographer had shot the video in some type of file that made him unable to bring back a lot of the colors. This seems like a huge oversight to not have them in a file type that can be easily edited and was deeply disappointing. I paid extra for unedited raw footage that was simply described as “all unedited HD raw footage;” all I received was a tiny portion of content (17 minutes from a 6-hour package), and when I asked where the rest was, I was told that all other footage could be found in the edited films (31 minutes of footage). Which made no sense since that, by definition, was edited footage. I didn't expect 6 hours of footage, but I certainly expected more than 45 minutes worth. I looked through and saw missing clips in our highlight film that were not included, and none of our toasts were included unless I was willing to pay extra for the edit. This made no sense to me—if I’m paying additional for ALL unedited raw footage, I should receive ALL of the unedited raw footage. If it’s going to be cherry-picked as to what is/isn’t included in the raw footage add-on, this should have been clearly stated in our contract. Steph read my message and didn’t respond, so I followed up a week later, only for him to say that my contract had expired and that there was nothing more he could do for me. I was told that he no longer had footage of our toasts AT ALL to provide me, and that he could offer me a small refund for that. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and you’re telling me you can’t provide what was promised but because I’m outside of an arbitrary time window (which was largely due to your lack of communication/response), that I’m SOL? All of this occurred within 3 months after our wedding/2 months after we received the final footage (most of which was waiting for a response from him), so if you need your content revised, be sure not to waste any time waiting for responses like I did. It has been almost 2 months since I agreed to the paltry refund he offered. I have followed up and have not received the refund nor received a response. I would advise avoiding at all costs, especially if he offers to contract out for a more affordable fee. Not worth the headache and disappointment at all.

    Working with Steph. Matthews for my wedding was absolutely amazing!! Before the wedding, Steph. made the planning process so easy; he was readily available to answer any and all questions my husband and I had, and he was willing to give suggestions in areas we didn't know what to do. On the day of the wedding Steph. got to the venue early to set up and get started, and we are so thankful he did! He was able to capture every part of the day in such an authentic and beautiful way! He is extremely easy to work with, he made everyone feel so comfortable and like they were a natural. I suggest using Steph. to everyone I know who is getting married soon! He made you feel like you had known him your whole life, which in turn automatically made everyone more relaxed. I can't thank him enough for all he did on my wedding day. I can't say enough good things about Steph. Matthews, I am truly so blessed and thankful he was able to capture my big day in a way that I will remember it so well. Again, I can't say enough good things about Steph. Matthews videography! I will forever be extremely thankful he captured my wedding day!!

    Stephen was an absolute dream to work with! He caught every moment! We cried on the day of the wedding AND THEN we cried again watching the video!! You can tell that Stephen watched the film so many times and took into consideration every single detail from our special day!!! My husband and I will forever cherish our wedding day video!!
