About Letterpress Films

Letterpress Films

We specialize in joyful, authentic wedding videography, capturing couples as they really are. Our favorite moments to capture are honest and unplanned, so we like to step back and film what happens naturally. We are based in West Chester, Pennsylvania. We film most often in Philadelphia, Lancaster, Baltimore, New Jersey and Delaware. We are happy to travel to other locations both near and far.

At Letterpress, we believe in story-driven films. Since 2014, we've captured hundreds of love stories and found one thing is for certain-- the candid, unforced moments are the ones you'll want to remember most. Drawing inspiration from documentary and narrative cinema, we handcraft and color-grade every film. We want you to enjoy the experience on your wedding day knowing you won't be rushed or directed. We'll be there to capture it beautifully and naturally.

    Beautiful films & an amazing team!

    We could not recommend this team enough! From the beginning, Joe was so easy to work with, and on our wedding day Joey was amazing. He was fun, professional, made us feel completely comfortable. Our wedding day also came with a pretty major unexpected storm, and they didn’t miss a beat. Joey rolled with all of the craziness, stayed positive, and continued capturing the day as it unfolded. Some of our speeches even had to be pushed to the following day, and Joe went above and beyond to incorporate those recordings into our final gallery so we could still have those memories forever. We just received our films and are blown away. The videos captured the feeling of our day so perfectly — all of the love, fun, little moments, and even the chaos! We watched it with our family for the first time and couldn’t stop smiling. It genuinely feels like we get to relive the day every time we watch it. We’re so grateful to Joe and Joey and the team for not only giving us such beautiful videos, but for being such a great part of our wedding day. We would choose them again in a heartbeat and cannot recommend them enough!!

    Our biggest hype men!

    Joe and Josh were two of our biggest hype men all day. They kept the energy and laughs going while working seamlessly alongside our photographer. We received our one-minute teaser film within two weeks and our highlight film ceremony/reception video within 1 month - everything was absolutely STUNNING. I'm so happy to say wee've watched it more times than we can count. Cannot recommend them enough.

    A dream to work alongside Joe and his team

    As a wedding planner, working alongside vendors who are talented, professional, and collaborative makes all the difference and Joe and the team at Letterpress Films exceeded every expectation. From our very first meeting, Joe was approachable, communicative, and truly invested in creating the best experience for Celina and Tony. He arrived early at Valley Regency to scout the venue and familiarize himself with the space, which immediately demonstrated his professionalism and commitment to capturing every detail thoughtfully. Throughout the wedding day, Joe was a true team player. He worked seamlessly with all of the vendors, maintained a calm and reassuring presence, and helped keep the day flowing effortlessly. He offered guidance and feedback throughout the day that helped improve the experience for the bride and groom. Joe's positive energy made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. His ability to capture both the big moments and the small, candid interactions was exceptional and is evident in the final products that he delivered to my couple.     Excellent, highly professional videographer

    I cannot recommend Letterpress Films highly enough! The wedding film that Joe created for my husband and me is an amazing retelling that evokes all of the emotion and joy of the day. We were also very impressed by how discrete Joe was day of and how well he was able to intuit where to be when. 11/10!!

    Working with Joe at Letterpress for our wedding was a great experience! He did a fantastic job of filtering our vision through his expertise to come up with a package and plan that reflected what we wanted. Yes! In the highlight films, you will see and hear excerpts from your reception speeches, the officiant’s words during the ceremony, and/or your vows, throughout the film. If you prefer to have the highlight include only music without any voices from the wedding day, that is always an option. We will assume you prefer to include the excerpts unless you request to leave them out.
For the ceremony, I will typically mic the groom and the officiant, and record directly out of the audio system that is run by either your DJ or the venue. The groom’s mic will pick up both the bride and groom’s vows, and the PA system will capture any guest readings you may have, as well as serve as a backup for the voices of the officiant and the couple. For reception, I will connect and record from your DJ or sound tech’s audio system and also place microphones either on the individuals giving speeches, or on the shared wireless microphone.
The raw footage is everything that was captured on the day of your wedding, and is delivered on a small dedicated hard drive. My cameras create a separate clip every time we start and stop recording, so in the hard drive you will see hundreds of clips in chronological order. I will organize these clips into several folders so that you can jump to specific parts of the day.
For single-shooter weddings, there will always be 3 cameras rolling during your ceremony and speeches at reception. For the other formalities, there will always be at least 2 cameras rolling, depending on the venue, schedule, and what I think is necessary for the moment. For the other moments in between, I will usually just have one camera rolling. For weddings with a second videographer, at least one camera would be added to each scenario above.
You will receive your video(s) no later than three months after your wedding date. You will receive a shareable link to the highlight video, and a link to download your video content. If you purchase the personalized thumb drive add-on, and/or the raw footage, they will be shipped within two weeks after receiving your links. (If you request the thumb drive at a later stage, it may take longer to receive it as the drive is personalized with your name and will need to be ordered.)
Ultimately, the shooting window is up to you, however I will provide suggestions for you based on your wedding day timeline. I am always happy to discuss the shooting schedule at any point before your wedding, but one month before the wedding I will always schedule a call with you to discuss the schedule and confirm the start and end time. You can always add additional shooting time at any point up until wedding date.
I do not charge for travel for weddings requiring 100 miles or less of driving round trip from the borough of West Chester, PA. For miles beyond that, I charge $0.67 per mile and additional fees may be added for a hotel stay, airfare, and/or car rentals, depending on the distance and the wedding schedule. If extra travel is needed, we will discuss this early on so that the total cost is known or estimated before booking.
When you are ready to book, I’ll send you a virtual contract to read and sign, and a link to a payment portal. A deposit of 50% is required to book the date, which can be submitted online or by check. Once the contract is signed and the deposit received, you are officially booked!
I will provide you with access to royalty-free music libraries as well as my own curated playlist so you can choose the music for your highlight film. If you prefer, you can also just let me know what your general music preferences are and I can make the final choice. It’s up to you, and we’ll make sure to chat about it! For a 3-5 minute highlight, I typically will use one song, and for the 8-10 minute highlight it may be 2-3.
