About this venue

Valley Mist Events is located on our family-owned farm, which has been cherished since 1971, and is nestled in a private, picturesque valley just outside of Ironton, MO. We originally built our barn and gazebo in 2015 for our daughter’s wedding, with plans for the barn to become my husband’s workshop afterward. But with encouragement from family and friends, and our shared love for hosting, we realized this beautiful space could be something truly special for others. So, we decided to open our doors as a wedding and event venue. Whether you're envisioning a country elegant atmosphere or a charming rustic vibe, our venue offers the perfect setting for your celebration. You’ll receive personalized attention from our dedicated on-site coordinator, and our experienced staff will make sure your guests feel right at home. Valley Mist Barn

We originally built the barn and gazebo in 2015 for our daughter's wedding with the intent of the barn becoming my husband's workshop afterwards. With some encouragement from family and friends and my sweet husband's willingness, along with our enjoyment of entertaining, it seemed only logical (and fun) to open our own wedding & special event venue. This is the place for rustic charm and the DIY couple!

    Valley Mist Events was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the start, their communication was open, professional, and reflected their years of experience in the industry. The venue itself was beautiful, with a clean, rustic, and romantic aesthetic that perfectly captured the vibe we were going for. While we did have a couple minor hiccups on the day, the team at Valley Mist immediately took care of them and ensured everything ran smoothly. They were incredibly helpful in coaching our wedding party and guests through the flow of the day. Karen, the owner, and her husband and helpers were all such sweet, amazing people who went above and beyond to make our special day perfect. We are open the first of May through the end of October for events. We offer tours year round.
We will host events up to 120 in the barn proper, but we can host larger numbers with the additon of a party tent and additional tables and chairs.
No. This is YOUR special day, therefore we will not double book.
In the event of rain, your ceremony can be held on the dance floor in the barn. Ceremony chairs will be set up for immediate family members, creating an “aisle” for the bridal party and bride to make their entrance from the serving area. Other decorations can be arranged to create a pleasing setting. If rain is in the forecast, a “just in case” can be practiced at the rehearsal.
Yes, as long as they are contained. Candles may be used in our centerpieces as long as they are contained so wax won’t get into or on our centerpieces. (i.e. votive in glass holders)
