Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Tacoma, our unique venue combines the charm of an old-world Italian bookshop with an industrial twist. The industrial elements—exposed brick, vintage lighting, and rustic wooden accents—infuse the venue with character, making it ideal for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations. This enchanting space is perfect for micro weddings, receptions, vow renewals, and rehearsal dinners; offering a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that celebrates love, literature, and community. With the help of our amazing team we can easily accommodate transitioning the space from ceremony to reception while your guests enjoy a cocktail hour and a good book. The versatility of the space allows us to host events ranging from small elopements and rehearsal dinners to weddings with banquet seating of 80-100 guests will ample room for a dance floor and congregating. For a more open, cocktail-style reception we can host up to 120 guests.

All chandeliers are on dimmers. Bluetooth JBL speaker system with wireless mic & wifi. Venue attendant for the duration of your rental.

    Extraordinary venue and impeccable service

    I cannot recommend this gorgeous venue enough. This was more than just a venue, Isabella and Tim created an entire experience, down to the smallest moments, that made our day truly remarkable. Isabella’s extensive background in event planning is evident. She thought of everything. Things that never crossed my mind. Her and her team helped us to create the perfect day. From the overall vision and design down to the smallest details like monogram cocktail napkins and personalized logos and pictures throughout the space. I couldn’t have even imagined what our day was going to be like. Isabella was able to take the small ideas I had and transform them into an entire beautiful experience. Aside from the beauty of the event, I can’t thank them enough for the flawlessness of the wedding. Her and her team helped us with everything. From setup to clean up and everything in between. They maintained the space during the event, served beverages and cleared plates after dinner and dessert. They even helped carry our personal items and gifts to the car at the end of the night. Honestly, from a bride’s perspective I couldn’t have asked for more. I never stressed or worried about a single thing. All I had to do was show up and take in every moment of the day. theBindery is more than a venue. I can’t thank them enough or recommend them more. Their professionalism and creativity are bar none. This is the team you want to create a unique and truly unforgettable day.

    Wedding

    If you’re looking for a place to host your wedding, do it here!! Isabella and her staff were AWESOME!! When we booked this place, we didn’t know that we were booking more than a venue, but instead LITERAL support for the day of our wedding. She decorated, worked with me to plan and execute the reception, and were onsite the day of helping. Thank you guys so much!!

    Gorgeous space

    This place is amazingly beautiful for literally any occasion or gathering.


May, June, July, August, September, October, and November.
January, February, March, April, and December.
Yes, however we do require our licensed Luster bartenders to serve all alcohol.
No, there is street parking as well as several paid lots and garages within a block of the venue.
Yes, event insurance is required for all bookings. Cost Varies from $65 - $120 depending on selection of coverage, event size, and activities. (Paid to: Event Insured or Event Helper)
We do our very best to be accommodating to all guests. We have a collapsable ramp for the entryway stairs as well as ADA bars in the restrooms. Due to the historic nature of the building, more permanent additions were not possible and we can work with each individual client to ensure all your guests feel safe and welcome.
