About this venue

Five fun facts about the Lake Erie Building: 1. We were originally built to be Templar Motors back in 1917. There were less than 3,000 of these cars ever manufactured and if you look carefully, you may even be able to spot one while in the event space! 2. Omni Lakewood purchased the building in 2005 and now manages the building, which has been divided into individual suites that are home to over 100 businesses. 3. The west parking lot where our dock is located used to be a test track for Templar Motors. 4. We host only one event per weekend and give our clients access beginning on Wednesday so they can bring in all their personal touches! We also only require cards and gifts go with them that night and everything else can stay giving you more time to spend with your new spouse! 5. We include a private parking lot and have a huge municipal lot across the street that's available to guests. We offer 3 wedding rental packages.

    We made a great d

    The Lake Erie Building was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, their team was incredibly responsive, helpful, and accommodating as we planned our special day. The venue itself is a large, open blank canvas with a lot of potential - we were able to transform the space into exactly what we envisioned. Having access to the venue from Wednesday through Monday was a huge reason we chose this venue, and it was amazing to be able to set up and take our time without feeling rushed. The team made sure we had everything we needed and were available to answer any of our questions along the way. We're so grateful to the Lake Erie Building for helping make our wedding day truly unforgettable.

    The perfect DIY venue

    Lake Erie Building is the perfect venue if you want to decorate your space exactly as you want it! Having early access to the space days before the wedding was worth its weight in gold. And the “bones” of the space are stunning. The venue coordinator, Hannah, was great to work with too. She gave us great recommendations for vendors and insight into the planning process. The reason for the 4 stars for the clarity of communication is because the contract had some inaccurate information, which I found annoying because I’m a “rules” person. But I can’t recommend this venue enough!!

    The easy dream wedding!

    As a bride, ease what you want! The Lake Erie Building took so much stress off of my wedding planning. They work closely with others vendors and provide so many goods and services to accessorize your day. The Lake Erie building is so pretty that it makes decorating a breeze, and the aesthetic is your photographer’s dream. I don’t know why you’d get married anywhere else in Cleveland!

All clients will gain access to the space at 8am the Wednesday prior to their event. Your tables and chairs will be set up for you at this time. Only cards and gifts have to leave with you the night of your wedding. Other items can be removed from the space on either Sunday or Monday post event. We require clients to have everything out of the space that is their property by 12pm on Monday.
We allow our clients to begin their event at 4pm and end the event at 11pm on Saturday evening. You will be given a courtesy hour, until midnight, to usher guests and vendors out of the space. New Years Eve is the only exception, with reception needing to end by 12am, and guests out by 1am.
We have three staff members onsite during the day of your wedding - a morning staff person to let all your vendors in and get the room ready to go, an evening staff person who will take care of any building maintenance during the event, and then a security officer. We do not include a day of coordinator in our rental rate, but one can be added for an additional fee. If you'd like day of coordinating, please ask on your tour!
All our clients are welcome to bring in any licensed, full-service caterer and their own alcohol and bartenders. We are happy to offer recommendations on catering, mobile bars, or bartending services. You can stock your bar with anything you’d like, but we do not allow shots to be served at any time. No exceptions.
