About this venue

Located in the heart of downtown Gastonia, the Esquire Hotel, blends the historic charm of the South with today's most sought-after amenities and services. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it opened as a bank in 1918, and later became known as The Lawyers Building. A six-year renovation transformed the Classic Revival-style building into Gastonia's preferred luxury hotel, an architectural gem featuring 35 guest rooms and an all-day restaurant aptly named Barrister's. With several rentable event spaces, we have everything you need for a beautiful wedding.

Framed by stately stone architecture and lush greenery, this charming space combines urban elegance with garden tranquility. Golden canopy drapes and soft café lights float above, casting a romantic glow that shifts beautifully from day to night. The cobblestone pathway leads naturally to a raised stone platform, creating a stunning focal point for vows, speeches, or performances.

    A perfect venue with excellent staff. Me and my wife did our rehearsal dinner here and we couldn’t have asked for anything better! The place is beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff were extremely kinda and accommodating. 10/10 experience.

    The Esquire Hotel was the perfect choice for our wedding. From the very first interaction, the event manager was straightforward, transparent, kind, and incredibly helpful. The intimate, unique space provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. The event manager went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was flawless and making sure we were relaxed and able to fully enjoy ourselves. We are so grateful to the Esquire Hotel team for helping to make our wedding day truly magical. The food was so incredibly delicious, our guests could not stop raving about it!
