About this venue

Welcome to our waterfront gem nestled in the heart of Ballard, Seattle's beloved neighborhood. We're a unique and charming venue perfect for weddings. With a seated capacity of 200 guests and standing room for up to 240, we offer ample space for your big day. Our 45 stall parking lot ensures a hassle-free arrival for you and your guests. Our in-house catering team, Chomp! Foods, is dedicated to elevating your culinary experience with customizable menus tailored to your preferences. We offer amenities such as a bridal/get-ready room and customizable LED dance floor lights Our day-of coordination services add an extra layer of support, allowing you to relax and enjoy every moment. Inside, a wall of picture windows frame the scenery, providing views that serve as a stunning backdrop for your day. Outside on the patio, the beauty of Ballard's waterfront unfolds before you. Tables, chairs, plates, glasses, and flatware for up to 125 are included, simplifying the planning process.

The space features a 7500 sq-ft interior, 2500 sq-ft outdoor partially covered patio. The picture windows behind the bar and west facing sliding doors cascade open, allowing the outdoor space to add an extra dimension to your celebration. Customizable LED dance floor lights bring in even more fun to the day.

What can I say about The Canal other than it’s perfect? The venue is absolutely stunning (both inside and out) with a charming, intimate feel that made our reception unforgettable. The food was to die for (our guests are still raving about it), and the staff were some of the friendliest, most professional, and genuinely fun people we’ve worked with. They made everything run so smoothly and added such a personal touch that it felt like they were celebrating with us, not just working behind the scenes. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that truly goes above and beyond, I can’t recommend The Canal highly enough.

We LOVED our experience with The Canal! They were absolutely wonderful and kind to us - Stephanie and Paul absolutely knocked it out of the park. The venue gave the perfect blend of styles and natural elements, and we loved getting to spend time both inside and outside. Paul’s food was also phenomenal - folks are still talking about the amazing brisket, which is a house staple for them. We could not have had a more perfect experience with this venue, despite busy schedules! We will absolutely be recommending this venue for several types of future events! This is not just a wedding venue!! Thank you Paul and Stephanie for the outstanding wedding!

As a wedding DJ I have been to many venues and for a city venue this is a special one with the view of the canal, boats and trains. You are on the edge of the waterway and the windows do the view justice. Plenty of space for tables and a dance floor with another section that flows well into the space. The bar and esthetics are well thought out and the staff is friendly. The patio is perfect for an outdoor ceremony If you are having guest come visit Seattle, this is as Seattle as it gets. Yes! 45 stalls are available on site for guests. There is nearby paid parking at the Locks. We also have colleague referrals for valet and shuttle services.

Your reservation includes nine hours, 3pm-9pm unless otherwise arranged. Additional hours are billed at $1250/hour plus venue coordinator fee.

In the event of a cancellation, all payments made to date are non refundable and all outstanding payments will be due immediately. We cannot refund any advance payment for a canceled reservation unless the date is re-rented for the entire period and payment has cleared. We will make every effort to re-book; however, if it is not, client forfeits all monies paid. If a cancellation is successfully re-rented, all of the rental rate, taxes and damage/security deposit will be refunded, less a 15% cancellation fee. If the re-booking is at a lower rate, client agrees to forfeit difference between new booking rate and their original booked rate.

Our building is located 20 miles from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. You can reach our venue by public transportation, or by private car, taxi or rideshare.

Yes! Commercial General Liability Insurance including Host Liquor liability, in an amount not less than $1,000,000 Combined Single Limit for Bodily Injury and Property Damage. Such Insurance shall name The Canal, Chomp! Foods LLC, Paul & Stephanie as additional insured, and a certificate of insurance with an endorsement must be provided no less than 30 days prior to the event.

To secure the venue, 50% of the fee is required at time of contract signing To secure catering, 25% of the catering estimate is due at time of contract signing Final Balance is due 30 days out. There is a $750 damage deposit, an additional deposit of $500 for dogs. Deposit is refundable two weeks post event once property is cleared of any damage
