We step in 8 weeks before your event to finalize the details, create a timeline and be the main point of contact leading up to and on the event day. You can expect us to coordinate set-up and tear-down of your decor, coordinate all of your vendors and much more to ensure your event goes off without a hitch!

    Spend 10k & DIY everything!

    The venue is beautiful but the actual service is not worth it. We had to do all of the set up and clean up ourselves despite spending 6000 in addition to the cost of the venue for their wedding planning package. The wedding planner then told us one week before our wedding that she would be out of town and unable to be there for our wedding. They didn’t even remember to set up the zoom call on my laptop to ensure my grandmother could be there and when I panicked and made sure it got set up myself the sub planner got annoyed with me!! The only thing that the planner/venue actually did was put up the expensive curtains & incredibly ugly tables and chairs we had to purchase because they also were not included in the price. Additionally, they have a required list of caterers you can go through and every single one was charging us an additional fee because they didn’t know how to make any Indian or Chinese foods. But if we didn’t go with them, we were charged an outside vendor fee. I was able to argue my way out of this, but it is insane it exists at all. Overall, it’s pretty location but the photos from the inside aren’t nearly as good as the ones from the free locations around the venue. The planner was nice but terrible service and honestly just not worth it at all. The 2 stars are because I liked the location. If I could go back I’d skip the venue and planner, save myself the 10k and all the stress. I can’t believe anyone thought it was okay to take a vacation the weekend of our wedding despite knowing the date a year in advance.

    Hi Shraddha - thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you loved the location (and yes - we completely agree that the surrounding public photo spots are pretty hard to beat). It’s wild to think your wedding is already coming up on a year ago - time really does fly! We did want to provide a bit of context for future couples reading this review. Our wedding planning services are entirely optional, and couples are welcome to work with any planner or coordinator they choose. When a planning package is selected through THE 101, our team coordinates venue logistics and sets up venue-provided tables & chairs, and rented (but also entirely optional) venue décor, including drapery. For clarity, THE 101 does include guest seating (round tables and folding chairs for up to 200 guests) as part of the venue rental. Specialty rentals, linens, and upgraded decor are optional and selected by each couple to fit their style and vision. On catering, while we maintain a preferred vendor list to help ensure smooth event execution, couples may absolutely bring in outside caterers. In circumstances where cultural cuisine is important (because let’s be honest, nobody should compromise on food at a wedding!) we regularly work with couples to find the right catering fit. In your case, the outside catering fee was waived 8 months prior to the event to support the experience you were hoping to create. Regarding staffing, we have a team-based planning model specifically so events remain fully supported when a planner has scheduled time off. For planned absences, an alternate coordinator is introduced in advance (in your case, 3 months ahead of the wedding), while the original planner continues supporting planning milestones through their scheduled leave, including rehearsal coordination. We’re sorry to hear parts of your experience felt stressful. If you have more context to how you have recalled the events leading up to and on your wedding day, please do reach out to us directly.     Best Wedding Ever!

    The team at THE 101 was an absolute pleasure to work with. From our very first interaction, they were open, friendly, and incredibly clear in their communication, making the planning process a breeze. The venue itself was a beautiful blank canvas that we were able to transform with their great add-on options. On the day of, they ensured everything was set up exactly as I had envisioned, and their straightforward rules were easy to follow. The magical location was the perfect place to host our special day, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend THE 101 to any couple looking for a stunning wedding venue with a wonderful team behind it.

    The absolute best

    This review is for our wedding that took place on 08/17/24. First things first, do not hesitate to choose The 101. From the very start of taking a tour of the venue with Emily, we knew it was the perfect venue for our special day. We went with the partial planning package, and from day 1, Alison was incredible—constantly checking in, offering guidance, and ensuring every detail was covered. She kept an open line of communication and contacted vendors on our behalf when needed. As our big day was approaching, Alison shared great news with us that caused her to unfortunately miss our wedding. Throughout the process, she reassured us with every step of the way that the transition to our day-of coordinator, Sam, would be seamless. When the big day arrived, Sam took over without missing a beat. She made sure we didn't have to lift a single finger and made it stress-free from the morning through the night. We could not be more appreciative of how well Sam took care of not only us, but our entire group of friends and family as well. The entire team at The 101 was beyond organized, handling everything with care and professionalism. They ensured we, as the bride and groom, had everything we needed at all times, making us feel truly taken care of. Now for the venue itself, it is stunning, versatile, open, and welcoming. The amount of natural lighting that shines through during an August summer made for the perfect photos. One of the biggest highlights and deal-makers for us was how they are dog-friendly, allowing our dog Milo to be our ring bearer and part of our special day. That meant the world to us, and we appreciate how welcoming the staff made Milo feel. If you’re looking for a venue that is beautiful, well-run, professional, and incredibly accommodating, look no further. Alison, Sam, and Emily made our wedding day absolutely perfect.     The most incredible venue

    It’s hard to put into words just how incredible The 101 was throughout the entire experience. From the very beginning before we even decided, they were the easiest venue to book a tour and communicate our ideas with. We really struggled with other venues being accommodating with our working schedules, and the 101 was so easy to work with. We used their partial planning services and it was worth every penny. Alison helped us bring every dream we had to life, even when we changed our mind or went back and forth. She communicated with our vendors, saw to every detail, was very responsive to our emails, and most importantly, she was incredibly supportive and kind! Every second of the day was accounted for and every decision was made ahead of time. And the actual day of… wow. We knew it would go well because we trusted them, but we had no idea just how amazing they would truly be. Sam and Emily set the place up perfectly. And when things came up throughout the day, they handled everything smoothly. There were so many special details they paid attention to, but what blew me away the most was how they always made sure we were taken care of. When we needed a moment away after the ceremony they made sure we got that. They made sure we were fed (which is so important and often overlooked on your wedding day!) and kept the day flowing according to our plan. We cannot imagine booking with a different venue. The 101 was genuinely happy and excited for us and we appreciate all of the hard work that went into making our special day perfect!

    Best night of our lives!

    We had the most incredible wedding night at the 101! Alison, our planner, made sure everything was taken care of and made all of the little details soooooo special for us. We both have no regrets at all and loved every second. Would not change ANYTHING and SOOOOO glad we chose the 101.

THE 101 Has a flexible vendor policy so that you are able to customize your event to your liking! Vendors can load in at 10AM the day of your event, and can load out until 10AM the following day. THE 101 is fee free! We don’t believe in taking commissions or fees from your vendors in order to make your event happen. We require proof of liability insurance.
When you reserve THE 101, you get the venue for 24 hours (including all taxes and fees), tables and chairs for 200 guests, your very own personal Client Concierge, and access to Walkthrough Wednesdays every week. Our other amenities, including our photo booth and coordination are optional add-ons.
24 Hours. 10 AM the day of your event, until 10 AM the following day. Yes, you read that right. The 24-hour rental gives you more than enough time to set up, party, and tear down.
Your Client Concierge is your dedicated venue representative from the moment you book, until the end of your event. They are there to make sure the venue functions perfectly for your event. The Night Manager comes on site once alcohol starts flowing, to ensure we have a dedicated person for facilities needs. Our Coordination service is an additional fee, and is 110% worth it.
There are parking structures within 2 block blocks of THE 101. Street parking is also available and we recommend taking the streetcar for a true Seattle experience or catching a Lyft so you can travel worry-free!
