About this venue

Standing the test of time since the 1800’s, the Baum Opera House has played a significant role in the life and history of Miamisburg. Constructed by Charles Baum, a German immigrant and businessman, it began as the Star City Opera House, one of the finest in Ohio. For 135 years the Opera House has contributed to the culture and history of the city and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Ransdell Ballroom

The Ransdell Ballroom’s historic mansard-style architecture and beautifully restored hardwood floors make it the perfect venue for weddings, concerts, dance parties, and other large celebrations. Adding to the ambiance of ballroom events is the large stage styled with rich, blue velvet curtains that complement the handmade draperies covering the room’s nine-foot original windows. Located on the second floor of the Opera House, the ballroom is accessible by elevator and has a capacity for up to 250 guests. It offers a catering kitchen and private restrooms.

Elevator Accessible, Large Stage, 200 chairs, Catering, Kitchenette, Restrooms. Renting the Ransdell Ballroom requires a Security Deposit due at the time the contract is signed. The rental fee is due 120 days in advance of the event date. Discounts are available for bookings made within 6 weeks of an event.
