About this venue

Sugar Lake Lodge is a 135 acre estate with a seven acre private lake surrounded by Lake County Metro Parks. It features a gorgeous 6,700 square foot lodge & event center with an 1,800 square ft. private suite fully equipped with kitchen, fire place, and elegant bathroom all with a slight rustic feel. There is also a steam room for guests to unwind and enjoy. In addition, there is a lakefront event center with dual inside and outside fireplaces, and accommodations. For a more remote and primitive experience, there are secluded cabins complete with bathrooms and a pavilion with cooking grills sinks and fire pits amidst beautiful hiking and horseback riding trails.

The Venue is an indoor, upscale, venue with outdoor and indoor capabilities and options. The Venue is climate controlled and has seven bathrooms in the facility. There are possibilities for every aspect of an indoor or outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception included with the venue. There are even two getting ready suites for both wedding parties, 3 solariums and a cigar lounge!

The Wedding of Our Dreams—Made Even Better
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that truly partners with you to create something that feels like you, Sugar Lake Lodge is it. From the very beginning, Nadine and her team took the time to understand the vision we had for our wedding. We didn’t want a traditional wedding—we wanted an unforgettable, love-filled party that reflected who we are. They embraced that idea wholeheartedly and brought so many creative thoughts and themes that elevated our vision beyond anything we could have imagined. Every detail felt intentional. From incredible food and drinks, to a late-night food truck, caricature artist, cigar roller, and even surprise karaoke, they helped us weave together experiences that kept our guests smiling all night long. They never tried to fit us into a “wedding template.” Instead, they helped us create something that was uniquely ours. What impressed us most was how calm, organized, and genuinely invested the entire team was throughout the process. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Nadine and her team made it fun. They anticipated needs before we even knew we had them and made us feel completely supported every step of the way. The biggest compliment we kept hearing from our friends and family was that this was one of the most thoughtful, joy-filled, and love-filled weddings they had ever attended. That’s exactly what we hoped to create, and we couldn’t have done it without Sugar Lake Lodge. Thank you, Nadine and the entire team, for helping us create one of the greatest days of our lives. We’ll be talking about it for years to come, and we’re forever grateful.

The team at Sugar Lake Lodge were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Their communication was thorough, patient, and thoughtful, and they were genuinely excited to help make our wedding day special. The venue itself was gorgeous, with a truly enchanted forest feel that created a magical atmosphere for our celebration. The staff went above and beyond, completely setting up and tearing down the entire event while paying close attention to every detail. They were also incredibly warm and kind, even helping some of our guests who couldn't find an Uber at the end of the night. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or team to work with, and we're so grateful for the role they played in making our wedding day perfect.

A DREAM
We literally had the wedding of our dreams at Sugar Lake, and I never thought it would have been possible. My vision came to life because of Nadine and her team with Jess and Cailin. Cailin took amazing care of our dogs for the day and it was amazing we could have them there and incorporated in the ceremony. I want to relive my wedding day over and over, and we got so many compliments about the venue and how smooth everything went. Truly the best wedding ever

Absolutely Amazing
I don't even know if I can explain enough how wonderful everything was about our experience with Sugar Lake Lodge. Nadine and Steve were fantastic to work with. Steve was our officiant and Nadine was was our planner and they both get 5/5 stars. Of all the searching we did for a venue and to think we ALMOST went with a different one. I found Sugar Lake Lodge and at the last minute before booking I decided to just see it for the heck of it. All we had to do was pull in the drive before we got to the Lodge for our meeting and we KNEW this was the place for us. We had a personal hiccup and postponed our wedding and Steve was sooo understanding and even offered services if we needed anything. Steve was our Officiant and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Our ceremony was a little different but he was terrific. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money to have a wedding coordinator but I'm so glad I did. Nadine was fabulous and had suggestions that were perfect. At one point close to the wedding day I was having an issue with the person that was to do my flowers and Nadine was ready to dig in and see if she could help. Heidi was on top of everything the day of and was very attentive. She even made sure that my Husbands elderly father didn't need anything throughout the day. She set everything up and was perfect. We had gotten LOTS of compliments from how beautiful the venue was to how Heidi was made everything run smoothly. We wanted to get married by the big tree at the lake but the weather wasn't cooperating. Steve made sure that when there was a break in the weather he got us out to get the pictures we were hoping to get outside. I didn't catch her name but the bartender was absolutely amazing as well. I cannot say enough about this venue. If you have ANY doubts, forget them. This place was more than what I wanted to spend but it was so worth it. Book your wedding with Sugar Lake Lodge!
