Nestled in the heart of Telluride, Colorado, the charming, intimate Sheridan Opera House offers a one-of-a-kind setting for your special celebration. Filled with history and character, our beautifully preserved 1913 theater offers an unforgettable setting that is distinctly Telluride while the flexibility of the space lets you bring your vision to life. The theater’s glowing pink lights, original woodwork, Art Nouveau stenciling, and century-old painted olio curtain provide a beautiful backdrop for your personal style. Whether your vibe is old world charm or rock ‘n’ roll party, the theater offers a flexible space for dinner, dancing, a lounge, cocktail party, or a concert. A full-site rental includes the entire building, including the historic theater and the SHOW Bar. The SHOW Bar is available to rent independently for smaller celebrations and events. During larger events guests the bar can be used in a variety of ways, and is often used for cocktail hours, toasts and cake cutting.

No, the Sheridan Opera House operates their own liquor license. It is illegal to bring in any outside alcohol, whether for a private event or concert, to our premises. Our SHOW Bar and SideSHOW Bar provide high-end liquor service. We also supply our own bartenders. We have multiple bar packages available when you book the Sheridan Opera House from hosted bars to cash bars. You are welcome to bring your drink purchased from the SHOW or SideSHOW Bars into the theater during concerts or performances.
There is no on-site parking. The Town of Telluride is very walkable and we are close to all public transportation stops including bus and gondola.

Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable.
Telluride Airport and Montrose Regional Airport are the closest options. There are various car services or rental cars available to get to the town of Telluride.
Your full-site rental fee includes event rental insurance.
Ronnie Palamar, the executive director of the Sheridan Arts Foundation, is in charge of booking all rentals and programming for our own productions. Please give her a call at (970)728-6363 ext. 1 to set up an appointment or discuss over the phone. Checking our calendar ahead of time is always a good idea to see if we are available on the date you have in mind.
We can help plan any private rental at the Sheridan Opera House However we prefer that all weddings held at our venue have a wedding planner. We also have a list of experienced preferred vendors. We can also assist for $75/hr.
No, we do not have a kitchen in the Opera House, but all local caterers are extremely familiar with the space and able to adjust accordingly. We have comfortably hosted seated dinners for 120 people with no issues.
Midnight is the cut off for loud music.
There is the green room with a bathroom right off the stage, there is a small coat room some caterers use for set up.
We have a patio attached to the SHOW Bar available for use, holds approximately 36 seated and 50-60 mingling.
We book national entertainment acts regularly if you need help booking entertainment for your party. Cafe lights available for rent, sound and lighting packages, projector and screen, microphone and PA set-up for SHOW Bar. Please reach out with any other ideas or custom questions and we'll be glad to help.
Yes! The SHOW Bar rental fees are based on a bar guarantee, so the starting rental fees are between $2000 and $3000 depending on the day of the week. Please inquire for more information and to check availability.
Most couples enjoy their seated dinner in the theater and then move their party to the SHOW Bar for a cocktail, cake cutting, toasts, and other festive moments while the team transforms the theater into your party space! Tables are moved so that the theater is ready for dancing and mingling when guests return to this space.
Our beautiful theater adds some charm to whatever your vision is! It can be cocktail tables, buffet, and dancing, seated dinner turned dance hall, just a concert for your welcome party, a western lounge with sofas, or anything else you and your planner imagine.
Most renters hire a planner who manages tables and chair set up, flowers, etc, or ask their caterer to do so. We can set up tables and chairs and break down for dancing for an additional fee depending upon the required timeframe.
We require a $1,000 non-refundable booking deposit to hold the date and require the full payment 7 days prior to your event.
Yes! We frequently have bands for welcome parties and weddings and often piano players or string musicians. The stage has been used for ceremonies or speeches as well.
