About this venue

Round Top Festival Institute is the sole project of The James Dick Foundastion for the Performing Arts. The Edythe Bates Old Chapel was built in 1883 in La Grange, Texas as the Travis Street Methodist Church. It was moved to Round Top in 1994 and completely restored. The chapel is home to the 1835 Henry Erben Organ that Festival Hill was gifted in 1993 by the late Ted W. Blankenship, Jr of Albany, Texas. The Albert and Ethel Herzstein Memorial Plaza was created in July 2001 and features include the dramatic stone columned entrance to the Lower Chapel, an underground stone room beneath the Edythe Bates Old Chapel, flanked by two rushing waterfalls. An abundance of wrought iron and marble details embellish the Plaza. We offer a one-stop destination experience with overnight accommodations available for your guests so they don't have to drive when the festivities and celebrations are over. We can't wait to show you our beautiful venue and breathtaking grounds!

We do not book weddings in June and July due to the Summer Music Festival going on here on campus. January, February, March, April, August, September, October, November

Yes, 3 car parkers are here to assist in guests arriving.
Chapel, Plaza or both depending on what venues are rented
An hour on day before wedding for rehearsal. The day of event/wedding starting at 8:00 am for decorating, deliveries and set-up. All activities must cease by 11:00 pm and clean-up must be complete with guests departed by 12:00 midnight.
Yes, Wedding/Event insurance is required.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are refundable if you cancel your event within 60 days of your booked date.
June and July are not available
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.
