Tucked away in North Park, our historic 88-acre property offers dramatic mountain views, a private stretch of the Illinois River, rustic cabins, RV sites, and our historic Lodge for celebrations. We specialize in multi-day wedding retreats and private celebrations, giving you the opportunity to welcome your guests, gather around the fire, exchange vows with the mountains as your backdrop, celebrate in the Lodge, and enjoy meaningful time together beyond the ceremony and reception. Our property is rustic, remote, comfortable, and intentionally different from a traditional wedding venue. A one-of-a-kind historic mountain lodge for celebrations that feel like a true Colorado getaway.

Our historic lodge is the heart of Old Homestead, with a rustic mountain feel and 360° mountain views. Gather on the expansive deck around Adirondack chairs and a propane firepit, or head inside to enjoy a rustic wooden bar, pool table, fireplace, gathering area, bathrooms, and kitchen. The reception space features wood floors, a stage, dance floor, tables and chairs, string lights, and an antler chandelier, with doors opening to a covered outdoor deck.

    Would highly recommend. The cabins were clean and comfortable. We rode our quads right from the cabins. Don’t hesitate to book there you won’t be disappointed.

    We recently were here to DJ a wedding, and I can't recommend this place enough. From the very friendly owner, Lauren to the gorgeous views and the great amenities, absolutely a must check out if you are looking for a place to host a group event!

    We camped here for the Haystack Enduro. The campground was very full but still seemed comfortable. The lodge was spacious, there was plenty of room to spread out throughout the campground and the bath houses were clean and well stocked. This campground offers an authentic, rustic, genuine Colorado experience and we will definitely return.

Old Homestead Campground hosts weddings from May through October. We do not have an "off-peak" season as we are a seasonal venue.
Yes! We do require a TIPS certified, licensed and insured bartending service for your event if you have guests who are not staying with us on the property for your celebration.
January, February, March, April, and December - we don't typically host weddings during these months. However, if you have a special vision or are planning a microwedding or elopement during these months, we'd love to chat with you!
Yes, we have plenty of on-site parking at our 88-acre property.
Due to the remote and historic nature of our property, we cannot guarantee all areas of our venue are wheelchair accessible. We do provide transportation to from ceremony/reception via our side-by-side for guests who may need mobility assistance during the event.
While our venue does have it's own insurance, we require guests purchase their own Special Event Insurance policy. We make this process easy by providing our couples with a Wedsure link that is tied to our venue.
Our typical "full buyout" package includeds exclusive use of the property and all lodging accommodations for 2 nights/3 days with access to our Lodge during specified hours on all three of those days. All packages are customizable!
We are approximately 2 and 1/2 hours from Denver International Airport. Map apps such as Google Maps, provide very easy and detailed directions straight to our location.
- Notice received more than 180 days before Event Date – All payments refunded except non-refundable deposit. - Notice received 90–180 days before Event Date – 50% is owed (deposit is non-refundable). - Notice received 30–89 days before event – 75% is owed (deposit non-refundable) - Notice received less than 30 days before event – 100% is owed.
We have 13 cabins that can accommodate up to 60 guests if all cabins are filled to max occupancy. We also have 10 full hookup RV sites and 5 tent sites available. If all of the accommodation types and sites are utilized, 100+ guests can easily stay at the property.
Yes! We have an open vendor policy. We do require that all vendors are licensed and insured for $1M per occurrence/$2M aggregate and can provide a certificate of insurance at least 30 days before your event. Since we are in a pretty remote location, we have a list of vendors we have worked or connected with who will come to our property!
Our signature experience is our Full Property Buyout—a 2-night, 3-day private wedding retreat with exclusive use of our 88-acre property, historic Lodge, cabins, RV sites, river access, walking trails, and gathering spaces. Choose a weekend or weekday celebration, with additional nights available if you’d like more time with your guests. We also offer custom wedding packages for couples who don’t need a full buyout. We’ll work with you to create a package around your vision, guest count, dates, and desired experience.
One of the best parts of celebrating at Old Homestead is having time to enjoy the property and each other. Guests can explore our 88 acres and walking trails, fish in the Illinois River right on the property, gather around the firepit, play pool in the Lodge, or simply take in the mountain views. Couples can also coordinate activities like yoga, volleyball, yard games, group hikes, fishing, and fireside gatherings. Nearby, guests can enjoy hiking, hunting, dirt biking, ATV/UTV trails, and seasonal snowmobiling.
