About this venue

In 1865, after a stagecoach crash, two travelers were welcomed by William and Mary Jane Dodge, who later opened Mountain View House. Over generations, the resort expanded, hosting celebrities and presidents. It closed in 1986 but was revived in 2002 as Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa, offering luxury and hospitality surrounded by the White Mountains.

A Storybook Wedding in the White Mountains

This space is 3,967 sq ft and can accommodate up to 240 dinner guests, featuring vaulted ceilings, a grand fireplace, and floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase mountain vistas. This ballroom has a foyer that is 692 sq ft, serving as the entrance to the Presidential Ballroom and Cleveland and Coolidge Rooms, and is ideal for hosting registration and exhibitor tables or food and beverage breaks.

The Club House provides views of our historic golf course and majestic mountain vistas in a relaxed setting.

Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.
The resort is a 2-hour drive from Burlington, VT Airport, or a 2.5-hour drive from Boston International Airport. Guests have also chartered a private flight through Tradewind Air.
Yes, we charge a corkage fee of $25 per bottle for wine and liquor. Also, if the New Hampshire liquor store sells a specific wine or spirit you may be looking for, we can order it if it isn’t something we usually have in stock.
Your reservation includes six hours from start to finish, including the time it takes our staff to set up and clean up. Any additional time will be subject to a fee.
Mount Washington Regional Airport, located just minutes away in our hometown of Whitefield, features a 4,001-foot runway and is perfect for private planes and corporate jets. Gorham Airport and Berlin Municipal Airport are also located within 45 minutes of the resort and cater to private air travelers. There are four major airports within three hours of the resort. They include Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in Manchester, NH, Portland International Jetport in Portland, ME, Logan Airport in Boston, MA, and Burlington International Airport in South Burlington, VT.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 30 days of your booked date, we’ll bill you the full amount of all estimated charges.
No, our venue is fully insured.
We impose a convenience fee of 0.5% on the amount of all card transactions. A nightly resort fee of $40 + tax is charged nightly.
Check-in begins at 4:00 pm. Check-out is 11:00 am.
Yes, Mountain View Grand is equipped throughout the resort for fast Internet connections. Wireless Internet access is available at no cost in all of the guest rooms and public spaces.
At Mountain View Grand, we have four different dining venues depending on the time of year. Our newly rebranded Harvest Tavern offers a stunning breakfast buffet as well as casual New England fare. The Harvest Tavern Bar serves drinks as well as traditional bar fare daily. The formal 1865 Wine Cellar offers fine dining for our guests throughout the year. During the warmer weather months, lighter fare is also served poolside at our seasonal Club House. Additionally, we do offer in-room dining for all meal periods throughout the day.
