A Wedding Venue Beyond Compare Step back in time—as you step into your future. With its elegant interiors and stunning landscapes, the Eugenia Williams House offers a timeless setting for one of the most important days of your life. The Aslan Foundation purchased the Eugenia Williams House in 2020 to ensure this regional and national treasure was preserved and used for public benefit. Our mission is to protect this historic property and ensure that it remains a cultural resource for the people of Knoxville. The non-profit Foundation is committed to strengthening the Knoxville community through grantmaking, foundation projects, and public-private partnerships. Its funding priorities include arts and culture, historic preservation, animal welfare, land conservation, and outdoor recreation.

The Regency Revival style of the Eugenia Williams House is characterized by balconies, ornate ironwork, large garden windows, and classical Greek design elements. The lavishly detailed interior features arched hallways, wood paneling, Venetian crystal light fixtures, marble fireplaces, and an extensive boudoir with custom cabinetry, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and a balcony.

All main floor spaces feature dimmers for customizable lighting. Bridal party has access to second floor dressing rooms.

Extending behind the House, the Wild Garden features stone paths available for complimentary bridal and engagement photography.

Available Fridays and Saturdays. Perfect for small weddings, winter weddings, and standing receptions. Full First Floor and Verandah access. Suitable for a seated dinner for up to 50 guests or a standing reception for up to 150 people. Four event hours, with up to ten hours of venue access. An off-site parking agreement is required for guest counts over 75.

Yes, we charge a refundable $500 fee for red wine and dark colored liquids.
Yes, our parking lot contains 45 parking spaces, which have worked well for up to 75 guests. Off-site parking with shuttle or valet services is required for events with over 75 guests. We offer recommendations on off-site parking, shuttle, and valet services.
Yes, our .25-mile all-persons trail leading from the parking lot to the house, and the first floor, including restroom facilities, are wheelchair accessible. We also have a ramp at the main entrance, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff. Our second floor is only accessible by stairs.
Depending on your wedding size, your reservation includes 10-12 hours from start to finish, including time for the wedding planner staff and vendors to set up and clean up. Rental drop-off may be arranged the day before, dependent on staff and venue availability.
In all instances of event host cancellation, the Eugenia Williams House will retain the 50% deposit. Events canceled within 60 days are non-refundable. Pending availability, a canceled event may be rescheduled within one calendar year of the original date.
Yes, Special Event Insurance Coverage is required with coverage limits of not less than One Million Dollars per occurrence and Two Million Dollars in the aggregate, including us as an additional insured.
The Eugenia Williams House is located 13.4 miles north of McGhee Tyson Airport in Alcoa, Tennessee. You can reach our venue by private car or taxi.
Yes, we recommend vendors who are familiar with the historic preservation requirements of this property. New vendors may be approved by EWH staff, with a required site visit no later than 2 weeks prior to the event date.
Yes, we require a wedding planner who is present for the duration of the event. At least 2 event coordinators (including the wedding planner) must be present at weddings with more than 150 guests.
Deliveries must be made in vehicles with no more than two axles and must clear all existing structures and landscaping without contact. Truck ramps must have a barrier between the ramp and the stone in the front motor court. We encourage felt pads on all table and chair legs to protect the original wood floors. No flames or nail polish remover are allowed in the house. Outdoor use of flower petals, bubbles, and other biodegradable materials will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, all such products must be 100% biodegradable; no plastic, confetti, glitter, or rice is permitted.
We require a signed rental agreement and a 50% deposit.
Yes, a security guard and additional portable toilets are required for all outdoor events with more than 150 guests. We highly recommend a porter for large events as well.
