The Perfect Reception Venue
When it came to planning our wedding, I always knew I wanted to get married in Downtown St. Augustine, Florida. Not only is it beautiful and historic, but it is also where I grew up and made many wonderful memories. Naturally, I wanted our wedding to become part of those memories as well. However, when it came to planning the day itself, we had to be practical since many of our guests would be traveling from both out of town and out of state to celebrate with us. After deciding where we would hold our intimate Catholic marriage ceremony - which included fewer than 25 people, including the priest, photographers, videographers, and violinist - the most important decision left was choosing our reception venue. Unlike our small ceremony guest list, our reception would host more than 150 guests. Because I no longer lived in Florida and was also finishing graduate school at the time, I was unable to tour reception venues in person. Thankfully, my parents graciously spent several weeks visiting and inquiring about many of St. Augustine’s notable wedding and reception venues, helping us narrow down our options. As someone born and raised in Florida, we had several important factors to consider when planning a wedding in the middle of August - especially for our out-of-state guests. First, August is both incredibly hot and humid. Second, it falls during the heart of Florida’s rainy season, when heavy rain and thunderstorms are common. Because of this, it was very important that our reception venue be completely indoors and well air-conditioned. These requirements narrowed our choices to only a select few, one of which was the historic Casa Monica Hotel. What ultimately solidified our decision to choose the Casa Monica was that it was not only beautiful and perfectly suited our historic wedding theme, but it was also the most practical option and checked every box on our list. Both the cocktail hour and reception were held entirely indoors between the Flagler Ballroom for cocktail hour and the main ballroom for the reception. The venue comfortably accommodated all of our guests, and room blocks were available for those attending the celebration, allowing them to simply head upstairs at the end of the evening rather than worry about transportation. In addition, the hotel staff and event manager were incredibly professional throughout the planning process and on our wedding day itself. The chef and kitchen staff also absolutely nailed our buffet selections. If you want to know just how good the food was, we still have people talking about and praising our wedding food to this day! If you are still trying to decide where to hold your wedding reception, I cannot recommend the Casa Monica enough. It was everything we hoped for and more, and it helped create the most perfect wedding day we could have asked for.

Fantastic and memorable wedding reception venue
The wedding was absolutely everything we could have dreamed of. It felt elegant, impressively decorated, food was great, and Tara was a massive help! She was so polite and kind. It truly was a night to remember, and I wouldn't have had it anywhere else! I really recommend staying in the Anastasia room as well because it was great for pictures. The Flagler Ballroom was beautiful and the room where we had the cocktail hour gave a PERFECT romantic and moody vibe with the beautiful paintings!!!

Best day!
We had the best experience with the Casa Monica team with planning our wedding reception. From the initial tour and information session, to patiently responding to many emails and questions, they made us feel extremely comfortable. Tara was wonderful to work with and was extremely detail oriented (which I can appreciate) and made sure all the little requests and moments were taken care of. The food and drinks were delicious and everyone had great things to say about the appetizers and meal. We had our signature drinks which we were able to curate with the help of the bar team and felt like we were able to make it our own. We 3 Casa Monica
I'm not usually one to leave extensive reviews but I must say that I was happily willing to leave a review of our wedding experience at Casa Monica. Jax is hometown but we live in Texas. Planning out of state required so much advanced planning, communication and travel. Finding a venue was the hardest part as we found outselves stuck between a choice of only 2-3 venue styles. We were looking for warmth, character and architectural design that harpens back to an enriched historical phase. NGL, I initially passed on CM thinking it way above our budget and a degree of service beyond our desired vibe (low tempo, chill and festive vs posh, glitzy). Boy were we wrong. I gasped when I entered. The smell, the service, the smiles. Such careful attention to detail and professionalism. Consider us sold. The wedding process was personally straining through many family issues and the chaos of planning from afar. We can say that having our wedding here was the one thing keeping me steady. It felt like the venue blended with the dreams we envisioned for the day. Communication was always clear and the event coordinator was always flexible in anticipation for our pre-wedding visits. This flexibility extended to modifications to the menu upon tasting, request for a special toast as alternatives to champagne, accommodations for lodging and event space. The process has so many pieces requiring attention that its easy to forget something. Before it even rendered as important to consider in my mind, they has an offering or solution to take. Even in the midst of coordinating another event on the day before,our event coordinator was texting about weather plans and the contingency plan that she had already curated. We felt so cared for the day of by staff; it felt seamless. Anything that went wrong went unnoticed by us or guests. The day of coordinator (that comes with booking ceremony there) was the type of high structured and got ish done. She helped corral family for photos,half of them who were French speaking. I can keep going on and on but I'd just leave with another thank you to CM and team. They made our day so special and I look at all the pictures from the day with all the warmth I remember searching for.

Wonderful Staff and Venue
Casa Monica Resort & Spa was the perfect setting for our wedding day. Tara and her team got back to us quickly whenever we had questions, and they were so easy to work with throughout the planning process. The venue itself is stunning with plenty of room for all our guests, and they made last-minute changes feel effortless. What really impressed us was how accommodating they were with allergies and special requests. Half a year later, my husband and I still get compliments from our guests about how beautiful and welcoming the space was. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we'd recommend Casa Monica to any couple looking for a gorgeous venue with a staff that truly cares.
