Welcome to The Calumet Club About The Calumet Club in New Albany, Indiana The Calumet Club is a family owned and operated, wedding and event venue located in New Albany, Indiana. The building is a historical landmark for the City of New Albany, and was saved from destruction by the Bliss Family in 2000. The Bliss family’s vision in reviving this 1900’s building was to keep its historical integrity, while providing a practical, unique, and seamless flowing space for Weddings and Events. It truly is a “one stop shop” where clients can book their Wedding Rehearsal, Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, and Reception. Our mission is to provide you with everything you need to make your event effortless and unforgettable.

The Crown Jewel of the historic and charming building.

Named for the impressive size, spaciousness, original hardwood floors dating back to 1920. Bliss Ballroom features high ceilings, enormous windows, ample amounts of natural light, and an overlooking mezzanine. The space is approximately 5,000 square feet and large enough to fit 300 seated guests for Reception only or 250 seated guests for Wedding and Reception.

    Loved the All Inclusive package!

    We enjoyed working with the Calumet Club for our May 2026 wedding! I'd been to a wedding here years ago and assumed it was out of our price range – but after crunching numbers for other local venues (everything from church gyms to other fancy event venues in Lou), we decided the All Inclusive package was the best bang for our buck. It was shockingly similar to what we would have paid for turn a simple event hall into a formal wedding reception by the time you looked at rental, catering, bartending, alcohol, and decorating costs. With the bonus of only having to sign one contract! Some things to note: - you won't get access until 10am day-of. That's probably fine for most people, but since our ceremony was at a local church mid-afternoon, we had to start getting ready wayyyy earlier than than 10am. So we didn't use the bridal suites (which are beautiful) and they did give us a little bit of a discount for that - They have some simple centerpieces that are available free of charge. But even better, you can pay 100 for hurricane vase floating candle centerpieces – which they will set up and tear down for you. Since we DIY'd the decorating, that was a huuuuuge help! - the All Inclusive menu with Stumler's Catering is *not* the same as what Stumler's provided at the tasting event. Maybe we should have known that, but it was disappointing to get to our 2 week meeting and find out that half the foods we wanted were not included in the "All Inclusive" package. They gave us the correct list at the beginning, but we didn't pull that back out and went off the tasting menu when it was time to choose our foods :/ it ended up fine, everything that Stumler's makes is delicious, but just be aware of that difference - The included DJ is Harold Mahan Productions. We met Harold at a wedding 2 months before ours and he was fantastic! He wasn't the one to do our wedding, but had somebody from his team there. Tommy reached out to us the week of to run through our schedule and make sure we were on the same page. He did a great job throughout the night, and I've only heard good things about their whole team. - Bartending is also included. Can't give much of a review for that because somebody else (stumler's, dj, MOH, etc.) were always offering to get my drinks for me. Seems like everything was good with them though, and it was nice to not have to find our own. Overall, would definitely recommend! If you want a formal venue without an outrageous price tag, multiple contracts, or a lot of decorating work, this is the place to go!

    Gorgeous venue - Amazing Staff

    I loved them. I can’t speak highly enough. Amber was quick to answer any questions during the process. And we had Cindy the day of. Cindy was everything we could have needed. She helped me get my shoes on, and when I popped a nail about to walk down the aisle she RAN to get my glue and fix it. I even had guests asking what the venue was to be able to review/tell their friends about it for the beauty and the day of coordinator.

In accordance with Indiana State Law, we cannot allow any outside alcohol inside our facility. All alcohol must be purchased directly through Calumet Club.
Yes, we have on-site parking spaces that hold up to 300 guests.
Yes, our 3rd floor and Lower level are both accessible via wheelchair using the elevator. Our outside Garden area is also on one level and does not require use of steps or elevator to access.
Original deposit is non-refundable. If cancelling less than 90 days before event, we don't offer any refund on what's been deposited.
Our typical Wedding and Reception packages include a total of 4.5 hours of event time, with 6 hours early access for bridal party to the bridal suites. We also allow 1 hour after the event ends for guests to gather all their belongings, decorations they may have brought in. In total, you have 11.5 hours of venue access for wedding packages. You may add additional time for an additional fee.

No, our venue is fully insured.
A signed contract, and deposit are required to hold a reservation at Calumet Club. Deposit required depends on the package. For All Inclusive Packaging, $3,500 due at signing. For Room Rental, 50% plus tax due at signing, excluding September and October dates which require full deposit. 90 days before the event, the remaining balance due is collected as well as tax unless already paid.
