About this venue
We're tired of the same old song! Located on Chicago's North Side in the charming Lake View neighborhood, Bookclub is a one-of-a-kind multi-floor venue experience. Our historic building features Club Soda, the Hard Seltzer bar on the ground floor, and our main stage + another bar downstairs. The event happening in Bookclub is streamed live to a 10 ft LED screen in Club Soda, so you can cherish every moment. Our stunning, modern space stands on the 30 year legacy of the Elbo Room. Bookclub merges the best of the venue’s rich history with a reimagined vision for the future. The brand new Bookclub is the first independent venue in Chicago that is Woman-Owned + Queer-owned + Black-owned + Gen-Z owned. Every event is treated with a personal touch from one of the four owners. Consistent correspondence and coordination ensure your event goes off without a hitch!

This historic music venue space has been brought to the modern day with the highest level production at our size. Bookclub is the perfect place to dance the night away with new friends. Right above the main space is a Hard Seltzer Bar called Club Soda where groups can enjoy the music over conversation and view the show on a 10 ft LED screen affectionately named the Digital Balcony. With bars on both floors you never have to wait in lines or miss a moment!

Tell em Wayne says hi!
Bookclub is one of my favorite places to be at in the world. Its charm, spirit, and ethos resonates deeply with me. I could list many other things about the space that I love, but I think the one that should be highlighted the most is the staff and owners of the venue. They truly go above and beyond to make the space so incredibly warm and welcoming to everyone. Every time I have a nice chat with someone there, I leave feeling my soul nourished. Maybe I’m a sap, but I truly have had some of the most pleasant experiences at this space. If you were to ever be lucky to go there, tell them Wayne says hi! I’m sure they’d love to hear it :)

For as long as I’ve known about Bookclub it’s been the coolest place to see good music. It’s awesome to see Bookclub open to other types of events now as well!
