About this venue
Avant Garden is located in a 1896 historic house, centrally located in the Montrose/Midtown area. We specialize in beautiful low stress wedding ceremonies and receptions AvantGarden is a one stop all inclusive wedding venue, florist and coordinator. We offer dj services, full bar services, valet parking services and all the amenities to make your special day wonderful and fun!

.AvantGarden has 4 different areas: The upstairs is where people usually mingle and dance to a DJ. Downstairs is where the main bar and lounge area are located. A front patio with a fountain, and a lovely covered back patio where the ceremonies take place. Our 3 fully stocked bars offer a wide selection of wines, homemade sangria, micro-brewed local beers and premium liquors, as well as tea, coffee bar, juice and soft drinks. Catering and cake also included in our packages.

Our perfect wedding at AvantGarden!
Thank you to Mariana and her team for creating the perfect wedding and reception for us! Everything from the food, drinks, DJ, photographer, decor and beyond were absolutely amazing. We were pretty hands off on our planning and Mariana took care of everything for us. There really was nothing for me to stress about as I knew I was in good hands. It rained for a bit that day, but her team pivoted and made the whole night flow seamlessly regardless. Our guests are still raving about how that was the funnest night of their lives. The taco truck and pizza are incredible and the drinks were so delicious. The venue is beautiful and the indoor outdoor combination is unique and fun. Thank you again for helping us throw the perfect party!
Lesbian wedding of the century
As a lesbian couple looking to get married in Houston, we had several other queer couples recommend Avant Garden. We loved the idea because we both have history at the venue, growing up going to shows there and performing there in our 20s. Mariana really knows what she's doing and takes care of her couples. We had an aesthetic vision that was a little non traditional and a very non traditional ceremony, but that was no obstacle for Mariana and the team at Avant Garden. Our wedding went off without a hitch and was the most beautiful day of our lives! We catered with the taco truck which everyone loved, & Mariana found an incredible group of all women mariachi singers to serenade our guests during cocktail hour. I've never seen the venue more beautiful and it was surreal making such unforgettable new memories there. Mariana was always so respectful and welcoming of our ideas. Even the DJ the venue used was incredible and all of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. For the most Montrose wedding ever, we cannot recommend Avant Garden enough. Couples are so taken care of and the venue covers so much more than other venues do, like flowers, dj, food, bar, dessert, decor, and there's room for couples to easily book other vendors like we did for our photo booth. And all of it one of the most affordable options we found in Houston! Thank you Mariana and Avant Garden for the best day of our lives!
Gorgeous Garden Reception
We had our wedding reception at Avant Garden at the end of May, and honestly, it was everything we wanted. The venue is so beautiful—tucked away in this dreamy little garden that feels cozy and inviting. It had the exact vibe we were going for… nothing stuffy, just a gorgeous space to celebrate with the people we love dearly. Mariana was amazing and made the whole planning process super easy and she was there the day of to help out. We skipped a lot of the usual formalities, and everything still flowed perfectly. We did our dances right at the beginning and kept the cake cutting private, which meant the rest of the night was wide open for dancing and actually enjoying the party. It was a little warm at first (which we had anticipated- welcome to May in Houston), but once the sun went down it felt great, and guests were able to pop inside to cool off if they needed. The food truck was a huge hit and matched the chill, fun vibe of the night. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had. It felt exactly like us, close, beautiful, and full of good energy. We literally danced all night. The only downside is the parking. We were advised to offer valet and I’m so glad we did, it took all the stress off our guests, and the valet team did a great job. We gave everyone a heads-up beforehand, so it ended up being no big deal. Overall, it was an amazing night. I can't stop raving about the garden either. I'm obsessed! Truly the perfect spot for our reception, and we’d absolutely host another event here again.

We celebrated our wedding at Avant Garden on Feb. 7th and everything was amazing! Mariana helped us plan everything from decor to dinner and drinks. The whole process was relaxed and she really took the time to take our vision and make it a reality. The whole staff at the venue was incredibly kind, helped us stay on schedule, and took care of us from start to finish. It was a dream. Thank you, Avant Garden!
