About Ryan Kost Photography

Ryan Kost Photography

Photographer

I’m an award-winning Denver-based elopement and intimate wedding photographer drawn to authentic, soulful moments that feel natural and true. With over a decade of experience in storytelling, travel, and guiding, I bring a calm presence and an open heart. My approach is simple—help you feel at ease so your love shines through. No stiff poses, just laughter, quiet glances, and honest connection. I blend rich color, emotion, and timeless storytelling. A bit of an old soul with a young spirit, fueled by curiosity, wonder, and the joy of human connection.

I’m genuine, confident, and real. With over 15 years as a mountain guide and photographer in remote corners of the world, I bring a unique blend of experience and heart. I approach every wedding with the soul of a storyteller and a calm, steady presence. It’s your day, I’m here to preserve it honestly and beautifully. Years from now, your photos will pull you back to the laughter, the quiet, and the love that filled it. Not just images, but timeless reminders of how it all felt—honest, emotional, and deeply yours.

Ryan was amazing for our elopement!

Ryan is great! He's not only a talented photographer but an amazing human being as well. He took pictures for our elopement and we couldn't be more pleased with how they turned out. His ability to tell a story through his photos is unique and we loved working with him!

I only offer photography services.
Absolutely. I offer full planning support — from location scouting and permit research to timelines, local vendor recommendations, and weather considerations. I’ve guided in remote mountain regions for over 15 years, so you’ll have someone who knows both the light and the landscape.
Yep! And I always make sure to get proper permits as well whenever needed.
Generally, it's just me, but I am happy to bring on a 2nd photographer if you would like.
I focus on small, intimate weddings and elopements. That’s where my personality, creative style, and attention to detail shine best. A small wedding is up to 50 total people. I love being able to connect deeply, move with ease, and truly capture the magic moments that make your day unforgettable. That being said if it’s for a larger wedding, I am open to setting up a phone or zoom call to chat and see if we are a good fit!
I’ll send your finished gallery through a Google Drive shareable folder. All images come in high-resolution JPEG format, plus a subfolder of web-sized versions that are perfect for social media and online sharing.
Yes! I send 5 sneak peek images within 48 hours after your wedding!
I work hard to get you your photos deliverd as quickly as I can, but I also want to make sure that I select and do a professional job with the edits checking color grading, consistency, and other subtle factors. Usually I get my photos back to you anywhere between one to two weeks. How many photos you receive will depend on the package you have selected.
I am not a wedding planner, but I am here for you and will help however I can. I believe in strong communication and am happy to work with you to make your day less stressful so you can focus on the important things.
With Elopements/Intimate Weddings, I require a 25% deposit at booking. The 25% deposit secures your date on my calendar and ensures I can fully commit that time to you.
Whenever you’d like. The earlier you reserve, the more time we will have to plan and coordinate. It also guarentees you that date and time on my calendar.
Yep! Surely do. I’m based in Colorado, but I also travel domestically & worldwide.
Weather is part of the adventure! I always encourage embracing whatever nature gives us....mist, snow, wind, sun-it often adds magic and emotion to the story. That said, I work with you on flexible backup plans and timing adjustments if needed.
Natural. Emotional. Story-driven. I don’t stage moments — I guide you into light and space that feel authentic, then let things unfold. The goal is always for you to feel relaxed, present, and completely yourselves.
I've spent 15+ years a photographer and guide in remote pockets around the world. I've been published in National Geographic and took home first prize in the world's most prestigious food photography contest in 2025.
