Ray + Kelly Photography

We're Ray and Kelly, a husband-and-wife team who's spent twenty years photographing weddings documentary-style: candid, unscripted, closer to journalism than posed portraiture. You won't find us posing your bridal party for forty minutes. We're watching for the real moments instead, like the look between you two before you walk down the aisle. We're based in Wisconsin's Driftless Region and shoot weddings from Madison to Door County and the towns between. Most of our couples want a day that feels like them: good food, real people, minimal posing. If that sounds right, we'd love to hear from you.

Twenty years taught us our best photos happen when nobody's posing for them. We shoot documentary-style: quiet, close, mostly out of the way until the moment calls for it. As a husband-and-wife team, we bring a calm energy to the day, so even the nervous ones relax fast around us. Most couples start out as clients the day they first inquire, and end the wedding feeling like friends, which is really how we think of the work. We're not there to direct your wedding. We're there to notice it.
