Hi, I'm Makenzie! I'm the photographer behind Makenzie Leigh Photography. Originally from Arizona and now based in Alaska, I've been photographing people and places for years and earned my BFA in Photography, so my roots have always been in the fine arts. My work is inspired by film photography, natural color, and honest storytelling. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll usually find me in my garden, exploring Alaska, or working on another creative project. I love creating images that feel timeless, authentic, and true to the people in them.
Your wedding day should feel like your wedding day, not a photoshoot. My number one goal is to help you stay present enough to actually experience it. While I create film-inspired, intentional imagery, I believe the moments themselves matter more than constantly being in front of the camera. I'll guide you when needed and step back when it's time to let real moments unfold. I also take on a limited number of weddings each year so every couple receives the time, attention, and care their story deserves from inquiry to gallery delivery.

I’ve know. Makenzie for several years and it’s always great to have her capture our special moments. It was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. From the moment we first connected about the wedding, Makenzie was friendly, responsive, and brought a calming presence that helped put us at ease during the planning process. On the day of, their amazing photography skills shone through as they captured all the special moments of our celebration in a natural way. We felt completely comfortable with Makenzie, who also helped keep me calm as the bride by making sure my partner and I could focus on each other. As a queer couple, we also really appreciated Makenzie's inclusive and affirming approach. The final photos are stunning and we're so grateful to have such beautiful memories of our wedding day. DO NOT MISS HER MASTERPIECES OF WORK
I AM CRYING! She gave us the most stunning photos that were able to truly capture our genuine reactions and love towards me and my new husband! She was so good at directing and she will be your hype woman. You will feel amazing following a shoot/wedding with her! Would have loved to have found her sooner but will be using her for everything from now on! I can’t say enough amazing things but I wish I could post how amazing her photos were here too just so you can see how amazing the colors and lines came out. 10000/10 recommend!!

Mackenzie is one of those photographers that have such a rustic, artistic, and loving style. She is such an amazing person to work with when taking photos. She made my wedding into a true fairytale. My husband and I will forever remember her artistry and the time that she had put into our wedding photos! Finding a photographer to take pictures when it’s dark out is not easy, but of course Mackenzie could pull it off! She is a miracle worker!
