Hello, I’m Laura! Owner and lead photographer of LWP. I live by the philosophy that a life outdoors is a life well lived. That family, friends and four legged fur babies bring the greatest joy. I'm always on the hunt for new colors, forms and textures, in search of inspiration and the perfect patch of natural (personal information protected by Zola) strongly believe that best photographs are organic, candid and perfect in their imperfection. Timeless and classic, they surpass trendy. I value the importance of tradition, customs and legacies and I am firm believer that love is love. I fully support marriage equality.

My approach to weddings is client centered. Each couple has a unique story to tell and it’s my job to document their personal story combining both photojournalist and fine art aesthetics. The best way to do this by getting to know each couple on a personal level.

    Timeless & glowing

    I am extremely late in writing this review, but a year and a half after our wedding, I just looked back at our album today and was flooded yet again with gratitude for the incredible work Laura Witherow did for us on that day, and for the ability to re-live all those moment through such a stunning, glowing montage of photographs. We selected Laura because, in addition to great reviews, we loved her photographic style: bright, warm, classic, and effervescent. It was exactly how I wanted my wedding day to look and feel, and it was how I wanted our pictures to look afterwards. As the daughter of a photographer, I notice a lot of trends that come and go in wedding photography, and for some people, a trendy look is a great fit -- whether it’s in a wedding dress or a photographer. I wanted our photos to feel timeless, and that’s why we chose Laura. We could not have chosen better. We loved our venue and our wedding’s design, but we chose to have a November wedding instead of the spring wedding I’d always imagined, and it was important to me that the day still feel bright. As it happens, when you marry the love of your life and your best people surround you in love, that brightness happens on it its own -- but managing to capture all of that luminescence in images is where craft and skill come in, and I can’t imagine a more beautiful set than the ones Laura gave to us. Looking through the pictures, it’s like everyone and everything is glowing, within and without. The photos are crisp and vibrant. The venue is stunning. The colors we spent so long lovingly selecting sing off the images. The facial expressions of our of guests during the funny moments, the touching ones, the ones that were so deeply us -- she got them all, each framed beautifully; the photos re-tell those stories. The day felt golden, and I’m so grateful that she captured its glow. We also appreciated how down-to-earth and kind Laura was. While planning ahead, she made us feel confident, comfortable, and seen. During the event, Laura was fun, organized, and professional. She dealt well with our unruly and sometimes disappearing family members and made me and my husband feel fully at ease. She and her assistant were able to capture every moment and every shot we wanted without once being in the way. She knew the venue well and lit it perfectly. She led group shots efficiently and effectively, building in just enough fun and silliness to engender and capture the genuine love and connection between us all. She brought out the best in all of us, and gave it back in pictures. I would choose Laura Witherow again every time. Thank you, Laura, for a life-long gift!
