I became a wedding photographer in a not-so-usual way. I remember telling my girl scout leader that I actually hated any arts & craft we did. Fast forward to many years of sports, and the pivotal moment of entering college, I switched to photography one semester in after realizing my current Marine Biology major was not for me and decided that was where I was headed. It landed me in wedding photography after a few classmates asked me to shoot their weddings. And since I’m a romantic and all…it was a perfect fit from the start. Something you should know about me is that I love all people, deeply. “Love your neighbor” is what I strive for.

I also believe equality for all is something worth fighting for every day, I support the LGBTQ+ community and know without question that Black Lives Matter. In my youth I may have been quiet but as I have grown into an adult I realize in the words of Hamilton “If you stand for nothing, what will you fall for?” Shooting weddings has really become a source of inspiration for the way I approach my work. Every story is so different, and deserves to be told in its own way. You may see that my images certainly have a style to them, but each wedding is catered to the feelings and emotions of the day.

    Katie’s POV is amazing!

    Katie’s style of photography is what grab my attention at first. This is the second time we worked with her and she was incredible! Since we did a mini session for our city hall wedding, we were already comfortable taking photos with her and for our party she was so professional and made the photos feel so easy and made sure that I had all the photos I needed with family and friends. I would recommend her over and over again!

    Katie is one of the amazing few photographers I refer in Souther California. Her unique style and professionalism make her stand out above the rest. I love working with Katie any chance I get!

My approach to weddings involves carefully blending beautiful, romantic images with a candid and journalistic eye. Both elements are key in my storytelling process. With over 10 years experience in the wedding industry and an art degree to back it up, my skills help me understand weddings & imagery on a deeper level.
This question is so common and I totally understand why! Standing in front of a camera can be scary. But my job is to make you feel comfortable and make things light. People come away from my sessions and always say “that was fun!” because that’s how it should be.
For weddings, and a typical 8 hour package you can expect to get 600-800 images.
Weddings take 6-8 weeks to be delivered. I try my best to keep that number down because I know from experience waiting for weddings photos is highly anticipated! But I touch all my photos so the wait is worth it, promise!
Yes! Please email me if your venue requires a COI and I will be happy to supply one.
Backup gear, and back ups of backup!
My simple answer is no. While I do thrive on schedules and family lists, I don’t like photo shot lists or Pinterest boards. You don’t want someone else’s poses, some other bride’s idea you want your own. And you’ve hired me because you like my style & vision. If you let me tell the story of your wedding through my lens, it will be all yours your unique wedding.
I’m glad you asked! This is really simple: wear what you like. My only rule I joke with my couple’s is to not show up wearing matching white t-shirts. Want to dress up? Do it! Wear a pretty maxi in a bold color? Love it! Do what feels right to you – you only take engagement photos once so have fun with it!
