Photography is a creative outlet for me. I love to photograph beauty and try to capture the "perfect shot". I've come close and I'm still searching for it. Capturing the emotion of a moment is such a challenge and such a joy when it happens. I get up every morning looking forward to photographing my grandchildren, birds, public events, high school seniors, landscapes, and, of course, brides!

My focus is on pleasing the bride. I do not impose my vision; I consult with the bride to discover her vision. My experience allows me to use multiple techniques so that I can match the brides style! Also, my experience has shown me that I can adapt to any situation. Things happen at weddings and my easy going demeanor calms the bride and gives her confidence. I can work fast if the situation demands it and I can wait patiently when things are running behind. I am genuinely interested in capturing as many candid moments as I can. I often deliver over 600 images. One-third are beautiful; one-third are documentary; and one-third are candid.

    Highly recommend John St. Clair Photography!

    John St. Clair Photography did a fantastic job! We had engagement photos through him and were blown away by the outcome. John has done photography for over 50 years. He was great at coming up with poses, telling us where to position ourselves, and more! He made our job so easy! He was also very open to our ideas and suggestions. I would use John St. Clair Photography again in a heart beat! Plus he's the cheapest around!

Typically, couples book me about 8-12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size of your wedding. My second shooters are experienced female photographers who work closely with the bride during the getting ready stage. For very large weddings, I bring lighting assistants.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I shoot in RAW format (used by professionals) and post-process in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. My turn around time is measured in days, not weeks.
Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 5-7 after your wedding. I also send a few sneak-peeks as I am processing. You can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints. I mail the USB within that 7 day window but expect it to take a few days to work itself through the mail.
I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.
You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors. For large weddings with several attendants and a large crowd, I average 650+ images. A second shooter usually adds another 400+
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
In the last 8 years as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
