I’m a wedding photographer based in Virginia, and I care more about how your day felt than how perfectly it followed a plan. I show up calm, pay attention, and let things unfold naturally; giving direction when needed and stepping back when it’s not. I’m drawn to the in-between moments: the laughter, the quiet breaths, the way your people show up for you. Weddings are emotional, chaotic, joyful, and imperfect, and I’m comfortable in all of it. If you want a photographer who feels more like a steady presence than a vendor, you’re in the right place.

What sets me apart is the way I connect with my couples. I want you to feel comfortable with me, not like there’s a stranger following you around with a camera all day. Weddings can already feel overwhelming, so my goal is to make things easier. To be a calm presence, earn your trust, and help you move through the day feeling supported, relaxed, and fully yourselves.

James is absolutely amazing! We hired James a little over a year ago for our wedding! We were not getting married in our hometown so we decided to find someone in the town would get married in! We had our Engagement session with James last year in June in Roanoke Virginia. We were nervous before going, because sometimes the first session with a new photographer can be a little uncomfortable. Ours was FAR from it! We had the absolute best time! We laughed a lot and James was so fun to work with! Not to mention the pictures we got back from it were absolutely incredible. I could not recommend James more! Before our wedding James kept in touch and up to date with everything! This helped ease my anxiety before our big day. James arrived ahead of schedule on our wedding day and got started immediately! He is by far our favorite photographer that we have worked with and we will definitely be making trips to Roanoke in the future just to book sessions with him because yes we love him that much! We got our wedding pictures back and they are absolutely amazing and we couldn’t have asked for better! We highly recommend booking James! You will not be disappointed at all! He is simply the best!
